Forums - Website Topics - New Horizons - A Message from the Team (About the Site, not Pluto)

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well.

I'm back from my VGCation, and it was pretty dang enjoyable. But I'm back, and I'm excited to say that good times are ahead of us.

Happy to announce that ioi has given Tachikoma the ability to help push this site forward along with TruckOSaurus. This means that we're going to do all we can to take VGChartz into its next chapter by continuing to refine the site as well as add new features that make this place even better. Really looking forward to how we move on from here on out. Please remember that The Truck Stop thread is where you can go to report site issues or recommend additions.

You'll see the updated logo soon, and that's just the start of what we want to achieve. You've got some pretty amazing people who are putting in the time to make this site the best it can be, so please be sure to let them know how much you appreciate them! Thanks again to Truck and Tachi! :D

Another thing you've probably noticed by now is that the Mod Thread is gone. After months of talking, the team has decided that the thread has served its purpose and to retire it. As Tachi and Trucks continue to bring improvements to the site, we'll push for better methods of contacting us and having discussions, both as moderated and non-moderated users.

For now, however, we're pushing forward our team email: vgchartzmods@gmail.com

This email is available to the entire team, and this way we can not only continue to answer questions from users, but talk with moderated users as well. The convoluted method of creating an Alt to contact a mod is over.

Again: vgchartzmods@gmail.com

We'll try to update the forum rules to take this into account ASAP. But I just wanted to let you all know about the changes as soon as I could.

Basically what I'm trying to say is this: we have users dedicated to making VGChartz as great as it can be again. I know there's been some (heh) frustration with how at times VGChartz is seen as a lost cause, but I'm back because I believe that the site has a bright future now. I honestly wouldn't be back otherwise. Machina and his writing team coming back was just the beginning. A bright new horizon is here, and I'm excited to be a part of it. ^_^

Thanks again guys, and happy Chartzing!

I can't be the only one who thought this was an article about an interview with the New Horizons team. Go Pluto! (You're still not a planet!)

Can we have an active users/online users counter including guests on the new site? Would be good to see how it deviates based on announcements.

It's great to see the Dark Years of VGC are nearly over. Now we can never speak of the dark times and act like we were never abused.

I believe we have something similar at the very bottom of the front page already.

1,748 Users online (176 members)

Such a system already exists right at the bottom of the page. RIGHT at the bottom.

Right now, it's 1,686 Users online (173 members)

Wow, the VGC team is now so on-the-job three of them answer one question in sync. Insane.

You mean like the one on the index page?

Members online: 175

Guests online: 1,525

I don't trust that figure. It's giving different readings to the one on the bottom of the page.

How mysterious.
