It's the splatoon of the PS4/PC

Splatoon wasn't given away for free.

Sooooo, scumbag Nintendo making people pay 60 bucks for it?

I only paid €35, so...

Already played it for over 60 hours (haven't played in 3 weeks because gamepad is broken).

Just saying the game wouldn't have been so succesful if you actually had to pay for it.

Definitely. Which is why the devs were so clever to make it free. Some devs are clever like that. You know, doing things that benefit their game and the players.

Lol, Sony paid them a lot of money or they would have said no.

Would've been weird if Sony didn't pay enough money for Psyonix to accept the deal.

So, Sony foots the bill and lets their users play the game for free, while Nintendo charges their customers full retail price then locks most of the disc content so they cannot access it.

I just started this last night and ended up playing for hours. So much fun. I really think it can make it big in the e-sports scene if they play their cards right. It has a good amount of exposure right now, but hopefully it can grow. They also need to add spectator modes and stuff.

Right now though, it's just pure fun for me. Can't wait to dive in again!

I finally started playing and sank 4 hours straight. The trophies are very easy though, got 60% in a few hours.

it looks fun but not anything overly amazing imo

You mean Sony locks their online behind a paywall and their fans are cheering them on after mocking MS about it last gen.

Not sure why you're comparing an indie game without a retail release to Splatoon anyway. Without being free this game wouldn't have sold anywhere near the amount Splatoon did.
