To say that the WiiU isn't an arousing success goes without saying, so much in fact that its frequently compared to SEGA's swansong system, the Dreamcast.
Well those comparisons are over as the WiiU has finally surpassed Dreamcasts LTD in the US.
As of June NPD total sales of the WiiU hardwae in the United States are around 4.07m compared to the 4.01m the Dreamcast did throughout its entire lifespan, the gap will grow bigger in WiiU's favor as, well, that one is still selling.
It took the WiiU 32 months to get to that number, while it took the Dreamcast's 34 months.
On the software side WiiU is also fairing much better, as the Dreamcast had only one million seller while the WiiU around 5, with its best selling title, Mario Kart 8, having sold twice as much as the Dreamcast's best seller, Sonic Adventure.
WiiU had already surpassed the Dreamcast worldwide sales as its sold 9.54m as of March 31st 2015 while the Dreamcast had sold less than 9.20m during its entire lifetime.
The system is not doing so hot compared to its actual competitors however, as the PlayStation 4 has already more than doubled its LTD and the Xbox One is not too far behind from doing it too.
Its the little victories that matter.
