Sony Trademarks “Boku to Maou” and “Hajimari no Boken” in Japan; Brings Back Memories

Sony has recently registered two new trademarks with the Japanese Patent and Trademark Office

The first is for Boku to Maou, which is the original Japanese name of Okage: Shadow King, released by Sony in 2001 for PS2, and developed in collaboration witb Zener Works.

The second is for Hajimari no Boken, which is the subtitle of Popolocrois: Adventure of Beginnings, the fourth game of the Popolocrois series, also released on PS2 in 2002.

Both trademarks were filed under the 9 class, which is obviously for games.

We don’t know whether Sony intends to bring back the two games as part of its prolific Game Archives series, or to revive them in some other way, but they surely bring back fond memories.

Boku to Maou?

Wouldn't that mean something like The Demond King and I.

Sounds like some odd children's book or some weird comic I would read.

With such a vast catalog...why these?

Granted I enjoyed Popolocrois on the PSP.... Is it possible this has to do with the rumorred PS2 emulator?

Okage  o_ o

I just got chills.  That game was awesome, at least in terms of style.  PLEASE refresh this IP!  Oh, man, I'm honestly excited ...

I'm just glad they're going after Japan seriously.

PS2 classics, right?

Though they're not compatible with PS4, which is their focus going forward.

I've love to see Sony restore games like this as digital titles capable of running on PS4/Vita.

I would prefer to see siren 4

I played that game too. It was a nice turn based JRPG.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

damn I really wanted a comeback of Tomba!, Ape Escape and Dark Cloud from Japan... And Adventures of Lomax from Europe...

Didn't play those games on my PS2/PSP

The Bitch is back! And better then ever! #BritneyReturns

SONY Bring them BACK for PS4 and VITA!
