Can you find a different source, because that's not what is quoted on neogaf, and that source is blacklisted on other sites for a reason.

I found another source quoting them. Either way, it's silly to even mention it when you are still the cumulative leader. It's even more silly that people have to bring up something in 2014 to justify current statements.

Checked the NPD archive on neogaf. This was not the recorded press statement.

What isn't credible about the source? lol its just the one I found here. Now 8 months later its not true?

Well I see the NPD responses on Neogaf. I see that Amazon themselves said PS4 was the top seller. Looks like a infamous site spliced it all together.

So what about everything else in the quote? Is that wrong too?

VGC old npd post quoted the thing you did. So who knows? It's to late to find out, I generally follow neogaf for npd, it's where we get our pies.

Most people who consider that Sony won E3 is because of the 3 big games they announced, TLG, Shenmue 3, and FF7Remake, but they also seem to be forgetting that most of those games won't be releasing until at 2017 or something by soonest and that only one of them is exclusive, that being TLG.

I think in terms of what was shown MS had shown stuff that had broader appeal as you will be playing it sooner.

Most of the gaming community doesn't care about Shenmue or TLG.  FFVII:R is a big deal, but Uncharted and Horizon are also big deals.  And the third party games at both shows are almost all bigger than any game shown at either conference.

I know that, which is why i'm pointing out that a lot of people saying that Sony won E3 just because they announced those 3 games are already forgetting that they are releasing in 2016-2017, same with Uncharted and Horizon.

Sony's whole E3 2015 conference was basically a "You should wait to buy a PS4 until 2017 at least so that way all these games we showed you will actually be out" while Microsoft gave a good reason for why you should buy their console in 2015 and not wait.

It wasnt just black friday though. They really underestimate Microsofts ability to gain hype in America. I believe Microsoft won both November and December with cheaper Xbox Ones. This year they will have cheaper Xbox Ones and Halo 4 launches along with Tomb Raider.

Sony didn't understand that the Holidays are about lower prices and better deals.

I disagree.  I think sony do understand that but unlike MS, they aren't in the financial position to have a price war with MS so they have no other choice.  Even if sony created a better deal than it did last year, MS will come up with something that will let the customers know they have the better deal because they can absorb the losses.

Yeah they deserved it!!!!! They had a really great conference this year.

Yet they can spend all this money on 3rd party deals?

Well,  they still  have to do something to make their console appealing to the customers but based on value for your money, MS will always have the advantage because they can afford it.  if sony manages to make an offer, you and I know than MS can outspend sony.  If MS decided to let sony get away with those marketing deals, you can be sure that money wasn't the reason.  Still, I was talking about who have the ability to make the better deals during holiday because financially, one of them has the upper hand over the other so it's useless for sony to compete with MS in that regard

Given their massive dommination of MS, those deals are dirt cheap.  Its in the best intreast of both sony and whatever 3rd party to sign the deal.

Sony does not care about winning a month or two by losing massive cash especially since they are still killing the xbox world wide and thats what they care about.    Teh big picture not one marlet, who they still will lead at the end of the year.  MS focusing on only NA is in PS4s best intrest, they get to steam roll the world with no opposition.  They are letting MS foolishly blow their load on one market and are giving them breatheing roon to do it there.

Sony could have easily crushed the xbox one in NA, but its would been stupid on their part to motivate MS into kick starting another gen early like the 7th.  Theya re giving ms roon for small success to keep going keep the futile fight going ratehr then cutting loses and trying agian.  This whoel gen Sony has played MS for fools, they are still doing it.  And reaping the benefits of it, Spencer took over a sinking ship best he can do is keep it floating.
