November NPD, all these companies say stupid shit, when they are forced to make PR statements and can't say they won.

DIdn't Sony just end up saying "we pretty much won the year"?

They said something like "we were the top selling console at Black Friday on Amazon.com", I'm actually not sure if that was NPD or Black Friday PR, it was extremely dumb nontheless.

What could they have said? According to our own venerable website XB one won every week of November. Did Sony claim to win Black Friday? If they had it would probably be a less laughable situation than claiming to win a week in June, since Black Friday is just about the most important single day in retail in the entire year, so winning that day, while not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things is still a thing to talk about. But I thought some of those receipt tracker services gave the BF win to Xb one. Did Sony claim to win cyber Monday then? If so then that's pretty lol-worthy.

See my comment above.

Yeh that is pretty lame. Sure they are killing it worldwide and still in the lead in the US, but they are being incredibly specific here. Might as well say "we were the top selling console at Best Buy in "insert specific area" over the weekend. This goes for any console maker. I'm a 'sony boy' but even I can say that is lame and especially in Sony's case, totally not needed.

To lose by 400k and then come out saying we won Black Friday on Amazon is sad.

well one could argue PS4 gamers had so many announcements they needed to talk about that they also had no time to buy a console that week.

U.S is the home of XBOX. Just like U.S is also the home of Apple (and Japan too, iPhone sell like freakin crazy over there, it's control more than 60% of all smartphones in Japan)

It's a fact. There is nothing wrong with supporting our own company[s]
United States Invicta !!!
Sony still winning tho. it's a fact as well.
Sony for the win :D !

Actually, Android has a larger marketshare than Apple even in the US. But Apple is the top phone manufacturer with 40% of the market (Samsung is 2nd with 29%), so you are partly right.

Still, the US is the least loyal market at least in terms of consoles.

To make this PR statement on December 2013 after losing November 2013 NPD is even sadder.

  • Over 3 billion zombies killed in “Dead Rising 3”
  • Over 90 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5” – equal to 3,673 trips around the world
  • Over 186 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”
  • Over 150 million combos in “Killer Instinct”

Lol won e3 what a joke even if they won it they lost Europe Japan South America middle East they think Europe is one country they only care for the cowboys in howdy America

Yeah, because black Friday is nothing special and just like every other day in a year.
