Lol, even if they try to claim so, that obviously isn't the case. Just like how Superman obviously isn't powered by the sun, because if so, he wouldn't be able to do 1% of the shit he pulls of, just like Dr. Manhattan couldn't do anything of what he does if it was based on real science.

Superman is powered by the Sun and the fact he pulls all that shit off is proof that the laws of physics don't apply to him.  Doc has limits that he cannot overcome, Superman has no such limits.  Championing the former is indefensible.  At this point, you're either trying to overstate Doc to the point where he no resembles the actual character, or you're trying to deny Superman the ability to perform at levels he performed numerous times before, or both.  

In what reality can you control matter with your mind power? In what reality can anything control matter at a sub-atomic level? What scientific laws allow him to see the past, the present and the future at the same time?  What scientific laws enable him to exist outside of his physical body?

Simple. Supes gonna resist getting teleported. 

I know, i know, its a stupid argument with very little merit...but superman did resist matter manipulation which is also stupid..

Supes a super geneuous who has the strength to benchpress planets. he can move faster than light, he can process and think at rates which allows him to keep up with his faster than light speed.

Dr. Manhattan may know what's gonna happen to him but with superman moving so fast that even before Dr. Manhattan could think of a way to counter, superman would have graved Dr. Manhattan and vibrated him so fast that his very molecules would explode and Manhattan is dead.

Yeah, i'm making sutff up here but base on all of superman's feats throught all his canon showings, I'm sure some superman diehard fan can find a scan or two to prove what i'm talking about can actually be done by the man of steel.

Superman has the actual on-panel feats to back up almost any stupid claim we can think of in favor of him winning while Dr. Manhattan has very little on panel feats and showings that all we have to go on is theoretical assumptions to back up his winning. 

argument + evidence = proof which every superman fanboy can come up with. the same can't be said about dr. manhattan. 

OT: can't wait for Batman vs superman. Supes would flatten batman in a blink of an I base on movie feats. wonder what stupid shyet their gonna come up with to let batman compete. also, his super batarmor in the trailer looks like crap.

I prefer Marvel to DC. haven't followed a comic in years though. sad that thor is now a girl. stupid move. not that i have anything against girls, but Thor is a dude even in mythology. I'd have rather they made a new female character who can whoop thor's ass...that would be cool.

anyways, can't believe i'm arguing for superman but on-panel feats can prove his superiority. something that dr. manhattan doesn't have...feats. until he has the on pnale feats to proved that he is capable of doing something, no superman die hard fan is gonna accept it as possible especially when manhattan is up against superman.

As a current reader of Marvel, I agree. Although that soon to change considering they are downplaying one of their most interesting, important and real issues in mutants. Thor isn't a girl, Thor Odinson just don't have the hammer. And trust me, with Iceman (only younger version not older version, don't want to get into that mess) being outed, 'Black Captain America' (which has been done before and it's just Falcon this time), many people wonder why they just don't have a little faith in us comic readers and put some real effort into creating new characters to fill their 'quotas', instead of giving different character the Thor or Cap mantle.

You are correct though, Superman is a plot device. He's so powerful it's weird if he holds back. Manhattan is a reality manipulator and suggesting that Superman can best them means any fight, any 'VS' is redundent when he is involved, Kryptonite or not. Could he best a 'Q'? Could he stop Jaspers? The current story in Marvel might not even have occured if Superman was there. :P

Superman's stories are great.  Just like Batman.  He's an awesome character.  People just get super defensive at the mere thought that their beloved character can possibly lose a fight to another beloved character.

I just want to go on record as saying a lot of what people are saying, especially about Superman Prime, is just wrong.

Of course he can beat someone like that. Didn't you know he once screamed so loud at Darkseid, Darkseid died?

I know he has had some, I've read some, just the feats are sometimes overkill.

I'm not really fond of either of these characters, I do however think reality manipulation trumps everything in terms of powers, including Supes. When the world around you can be anything you want, being able to fly at FTL speeds seems a little pointless.

So he has Black Bolt's powers too now? What's next, he's going to be able to stretch like Mr Fantastic? Or use telekinesis on the level of Nate Grey?
