Forums - Sales Discussion - June 2015 NPD Thread! PS4, WiiU, XBO, 3DS up

I am glad xb1 is doing well. Now that I think of it, I don't want it to flop because that might lead to MS start thinking about a new console early on, forcing a premature new gen. I want this gen to last as much as it can.

Weird. I went back and checked, and while I made a couple of errors, after double-checking I still come up with a difference of 799k. Are all the numbers we've gotten here correct? For reference, here's everything I've copied out of the OPs in the NPD threads here at VGC:

I have for PS4 at 3580k up to June 2014.
You have it at 3595k to the same period.

Just that part I see a 15k difference but I didn't checked.

Edit - Jan-Jun official numbers are 1577k... your numbers give me 1592k.

Wow, Wii U is heavily overtracked. At least 3DS is undertracked. But wow.
NX can't come soon enough.

25k is not "HEAVILY" overtracked...and if is, even 3DS is heavily undertracked.

30% is not heavily overtracked? =X

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Also, Forza will be nothing.
We talk about NPD, so US, and we all know how crappy sell the R games... Forza will be huge in UK.

XB1 has a lot of nice titles this fall. But with the exception of Halo none of them will move consoles in any discernable way. That said all.of those exclusives are going to get buried by MGS5, CoD, FO4, Star Wars, and AC

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

I'm still curious to see how many consoles Halo 5 moves, versus how many people who've already picked up an XB1 specifically for Halo and are ok with waiting.  Not that I'm downplaying the Halo effect, at all.  I just know that certain individuals like certain console exclusive IP so much they'll just buy the console outright and wait for the IP they want to launch (GT5 was why I got a launch PS3...I was fine with waiting).  It'll be interesting for sure.

It is.

Well due the round I got 783k but it is 770k... I think you are using some wrong number.

Numbers in the OP of the threads can be different, as November 2014 Xbox One is 1,230,500 and December 2014 Xbox One is 1.3m

Actually you must've typo'd XBO Nevember 2014 as the OP has it at 1.23m

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

I always see 1.24 million for November and 1.3 million for December... any source?

Aquamarine flatout said 1,230,500. 1.3m is from the NPD thread for December, but I don't want to look through them right now. Those 2 numbers are correct.

The gap won't be erased this time during these holidays. People forgot the massive price drops that the X1 had to undergo to outsell the PS4. From $500 to $350 + a game. Will it be down to $200 + 2 games this time around?

October for sure, November and December will be hard with Call of Duty and Battlefront.

Depend on the BlackFriday deals.

CoD and Battlefront vs Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider. That's fine with me.

MGS V and uncharted collection might help a bit

Remasters don't do too much but if that's the case Gears Forza 6 and Rare Replay might help a bit too. I could see Rare bundles alongside Gears Ultimate Edition ones.

the last of us remastered did fine. and Uncharted collection is more relevant than gears, first one was available PC even the remake will be better on PC, so IMO it just doesnt warrant an Xbox one purchase, so does Rare collection same goes with God of war and journey remaster. one the other hand Forza will have a bigger impact in EU region, but will still be effective in US too. Microsoft should treat fallout 4 the way Sony treated destiny
