Forums - Sales Discussion - June 2015 NPD Thread! PS4, WiiU, XBO, 3DS up

PS4 being #1 solely based on exclusive marketing makes me very curious on how this holiday season plays out. Microsoft for all intensive purposes has this holiday on lock-down, whereas in my opinion Sony has the far more preferable long term. If they manage to hold or even outsell Microsoft based on the exclusive marketing deals such as Star Wars then I don't see them falling out of first this entire generation.

INTENTS and purposes. Your English lesson for the day. And just as a general reminder to people it's should have, could have, would have...not "of"

I am pretty sure MS will have some tricks up its sleeve to try to be number 1 in Nov and Dec. The only things I think Sony will do are bundles and release a 1TB sku as the base model for $399. Maybe Sony will flick off 500GB stocks in a fire sale for $350, but I don't expect that to amount to huge numbers. The MS 1TB model will be $350 for the holidays, though it will be permanent not temporary. If they have any 500GB skus they will flick them off to $299 + a game maybe. With Xb one's line up, which is especially US friendly, I can see them taking out Nov and Dec in the USA again this year.

Nice numbers for the PS4 but not as big as I was expecting. I'm still surprised X1 was able to sell that much.

Gears of War Ultimate edition?

So everything has been moderately undertracked, except wii u which is slightly overtracked. Seems more or less par for the course at this point.

Good ps4 and xb1 sales. I guess the only dissapointment is Wii U. Expected a little more from it.

Well that isn't nearly the massive gap people were hyping up for June. Even saw many claims of Xbox One to be down this June because of the removal of Kinect.

You need to listen more to Amazon than some random people on the internet.

The one true god of forecasting predicted a gap about this size.

MS is putting up a pretty good fight in the US to be honest. Poor Nintendo. I really hope whatever direction the NX takes that it can right the ship for them.

From what I have seen, the game doesnt look like a remake but it definitely look like a good remaster, better than TLOU R and GOW 3.
I admit that MS approach with remaster have been better than sony.

Xbox is in a really bad spot going forward. This shows just how important marketing deals are.

Are there numbers for the gap between PS4 and Xbone so far into the year for NA according to NPD?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
