Yeah, very possible.

Only problem is, everyone would have assumed Wii U/3DS would be the last Nintendo consoles, including developers. Which in turn would have meant again no 3rd party software support, as they literally for the most part only would find out about NX on it's reveal - which is too late to develop/port a game for it's release window. And probably also afterwards, because a release without games is not gonna sell well.

They should have kept it secret, but informed all the devs/publishers about it with an NDA for over a year, but that's hard to achieve without getting tons of leaks

Titanfall sold 140k the second month, not 84k... (also Infamous sold 82k, not 84k)

Yes, Titanfall sold over 1 million first month with the bundle, but withouth that, Titanfall pass 1 million sold only in June 2014. ( 4 month after released )

You can't compare the two as Titanfall had 4 weeks of sales in March, then another 4 weeks in April, while Splatoon had 2 days in May and an entire 5 weeks in June.
