Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA Games seems to really dislike Nintendo

In the wake of Satoru Iwata's death, many gamers and developers alike have gathered to give their condolences to those close to him.
Even Nintendo's direct competitors such as Sony and Microsoft showed their respects.

The only major developer I could come across that did not show their respect was EA. Even with the death of Iwata - EA still ignores Nintendo.

What are your thoughts?

Do they need to say something? Someone earlier mentioned that they did say something, but even if they didn't, does it really mean that they are anti Nintendo if they don't say something? I think you guys are getting a bit carried away. Yes Iwata was a great man, but not every single being needs to put out a public statement about his greatness

I just checked their Twitter, and they did mention Iwata...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Sorry I should have specified. EA of Australia did not give their condolences.

If you cant say something nice, better to not say anything at all.

To be fair, Nintendo has made alot of PR jabs at game devs over time.... it wouldnt surprise me if they stepped on some toes along the way.

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox Software president

"I never met anyone in our industry who knew him who did not admire and respect Iwata. I believe our industry has suffered a great loss with his passing. The wisest among us will long try to remember and embody his character."

Randy Pitchford is a person. I said "Gearbox". They are *not* the same thing, in the same way as Peter Moore posting something is not the same thing as EA posting something.

Gearbox did not say a word about Iwata.

EA Australia is just an advertising/distribution arm - EA doesn't have a "real" presence in Australia.

"Rest in peace, Iwata-san, gone much too soon. A legend of gaming …"
"...Iwata-san was a visionary who has helped bring joy to millions. Our thoughts are with the entire Nintendo family."
EA twitter

So, not sure what are you talking about OP?

Do you guys actually spend time on the internet and check who and who didn't post about Iwata?

Seriously, it's not even that big of a deal.
