Forums - Gaming Discussion - Japanese games are unfair, I don't like it

Every game ever is just mashing buttons. The difference comes in how the player uses said mashing depending on the game.

I'm now filled with determination.

So you're having trouble with one game and calling thousands of games "unfair" ?

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne are fair, for example. Megaman is fair (haven't played them all, but from all the ones I've played, they were simply great). Same goes for FF IV, VI, VII, IX, X, XII, etc... Also KH 2, Tales Of, etc...?

I don't know, maybe calm down a bit and try to ease your frustration before making such silly statements.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

I've played/platinumed all the Yakuza games and I've never found anything in their games to be unfair.

I think it's unfair to generalize that all Japanese games are unfair rather than blaming your poor game skills/methods for not figuring out the best way to beat through the game.

It's not the game's fault you didn't come prepared or your skills aren't good enough.

I dunno bro, a challenging/time consuming boss fight sounds better than being killed by trash mobs because there was a sudden spike in difficulty along the way or you were just too low level for the area. lol!

There no such thing as unfair japanese games. Japanese games only seem unfair or overly difficult to people who don't learn from their mistakes. Western games always hold your hands to the finish line.

get good bro... japanese games aint no place for terribad noobs...

I'm at the end of Yakuza 4 where you have four boss fights in a row, I wasted around an hour on them and what do you know, at the fouth boss turned out my fouth character had only a few health items and I will have to load my save and fight all four bosses all over. I can't tell how many times I have been frustrated with unfairness of Japanese games when I palyed them for the first time. Where is fun in mashing buttons for an hour straight? They laugh at some western studios who make 5 hour games but I will take that over what they offer, repetitive gameplay and meaningless dialogues. I'm putting embargo on Jap games, except Okami, that game is surprisingly fair.

heh... dont mean to be an ass, but maybe you just suck... :p

try playing battle toads on the NES... now, that shyet is what I call UNFAIRLY HARD

Japanese games are pretty much 50% of all games. They have every genre, and they do them in as many ways as the rest of the world does them. Western developers have just as many "unfair" games.
