It could be. But from what I saw when I watched it it's really not that good. Fell asleep a few times and my kids had to wake me up. Could've been that we saw it at a Drive-In but I've watched other films at the drive-in before and have not fallen asleep. Also read someone mention Inside Out. Of the animated films I've seen recently I'd say Home is the best one. But it could be that I'm partial to Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

If there is a God he has better things to worry about than animated cinema. Unless it's Hentai lol.

Actually China soon becoming the top market makes it easier then ever before.  That being said Minions has to do it without China's help.

No. It already released in all big territories except for Japan and South Korea.

Its tracking ahead of DM2 and that one almost made it to a billion so unless Minions has no kinda legs it will easily make it to a billion.  Of course it would be a whole lot easier if it also would release in China.

I know Minions has been big in the USA but is it big everywhere else? I haven't noticed the merchandise shift anymore than usual for a normal animated film  and it's nowhere near Frozen's level at least were I work in the UK,.

I hope not. I hate the Minions with a burning passion. They're disgusting, never understood why people find them cute x~x

Well here in the US there is a megaton of Minions merchandising.  Plus a ton of cross promotions the biggest one is probably the one with McDonalds which has a prize game featuring the Minions and there are currently Minions toys in the Happy Meal.
