Normally I prefer 2D cartoons, possibly handmade, and I quite hate most 3D CGI cartoons (Despicable me was quite nice also for my tastes, though), but Minions are awesome! I vote 1.5B+! 
Lol would be crazy tbh, I doubt its going to happen. Surely 2015 can only have so many billion dollar movies, we already have 3 and Star Wars is essentially a lock at this point. 2015 has been crazy

The minions hve the "viral cute" effect, they will milk them until the next obnoxiously cute characters appears.
Well the whole world has gone crazy for minions so sure why not.

I'd say parents and their kids will likely go to see minions if they have to chose. As inside out has something more mature to it. I even heard that InsideOut is more of a grownup movie. While minions looks totaly to be a familiy/kids movie. Well you have seen the movies, I guess you know ^^
Whatever they make in movie sales is NOTHING compared to what they're going to make in merchandise sales. It's a movie made to sell toys. (A good movie at that)

Very true. We've had Minions toys for months and now that the movie is out...they're everywhere.
