11.0 million 69 18.70%

11.5 million 84 22.76%

12.0 million 75 20.33%

12.5 million 44 11.92%

13.0 million 29 7.86%

13.5 million 7 1.90%

> 13.5 million 20 5.42%

The Wii U has finally passed the 10 million mark. At the end of 2014 Nintendo had almost reached 9 million after 2 years of the console being on sale. At the time I wondered if  they could maintain  4.5 million console sales per year or if the Wii U had already peaked. With 6 months to go in 2015 the prospect of another 3.5 million sales in the next 6 months simply wont happen IMO. Surely the software  drought and poor E3 have not helped matters.

Question: how may Wii U consoles will be sold by the end of this year? I'm thinking 11.5 million.

I love my Wii U, but it's not hard to see where they made missteps. I hope Nintendo will return to the Red Ocean one day.

At first: Wii U is most likely under 10 million SOLD. If we talk about shipment then, in that case 10 million or a bit more seem about correct...

OT: i believe will be in the 11.5 - 12.5 million range. 12 million then.

1 milion more sounds likely with the releases of SMM, Star Fox and Xeno in the West so I'd say 11 Milion, if they advertise Xeno and Star Fox they could reach 12 Milion too

Don´t you mean blue ocean?

I wish I could find all of the prediction threads about end of 2015 sales.

Blue Ocean is their strategy to dive into unexplored markets (like the Wii) instead of the Red Ocean that's an already explored market (aka Xbox One/PS4)

I'd just like to see them try to take on Sony and Microsoft head on again.

Too low imo because Nintendo always sells disproportionally well during the holidays.

With Starfox, Super Mario Maker, Yoshi, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, SMTxFE, while not being as big as Smash (but that one's impact was already largely diminshed with the 3DS version), are more versatile and numerous then what it had to offer last year at this point (Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Smash) and might keep the sales above last year's baseline.

So my prediction is above 12 Millions, hoping for 13 (13 being not too probable, I know)

I don't think they'll do. I mean, they tried just that with the Wii U at launch with an impressive third party lineup, but it didn't work out.

I rather believe they will go even more their own way, buying some IP and developing some other ones along the way. If it's a success, third party will come back, if not, they'll be independent enough to survive without them.

They tried half-heartedly. If they made sure the Wii U could keep up with the PS4/Xbox One they could hammer those 3rd parties more, but they went for the "better than Xbox 360 and PS3" route, which didn't quite cut it.
