Such a good game. I liked it so much that I spent 21 hours on my first play through. I explored everything. But I'll admit, the first few hours of the game were a bit slow.

Most definitely, especially the first "mission" once you've got Ellie the game kind of starts and it kicks it into gear around the time when Tess dies then it just doesn't stop.

one of the best games ever in my opinion, i do believe its a masterpiece.

I agree. I have beaten the game about 5 times already and spent about 30 hours in the online mode. That's how good it is.

I owned a PS3 but never purchased it,

so 3 days ago i finally got TLOU:R on PS4, with is being the most awarded game in history I thought this better blow my mind, I came in with huge expectations...  AND IT DESTROYED THEM ALL.

Holy shit, what a fucking game, I know I'm late to the party but DAMN.

The gameplay was absolutely on point, I have no idea what people are talking about when they say 'it's a great movie, gameplay is lacking' the gameplay was fantastic, the controls were solid, the camera work was fantastic the stealth was great and felt awesome. The Ellie winter gameplay section was fantastic with Nolan North's character, the work with the bow and arrow actually had me more hyped for Horizon funny enough.

I'm completely with Joel at the end there's no way I would give Ellie up, although it would be for the better of humanity but Naughty Dog did a great job at making me feel Paternal for Ellie everytime someone was on her or attacking her I lost my shit and blew their face off.

10/10

I'm impressed that you had high expectations and yet they were still exceeded. I've actually learned to be a bit cynical about massively hyped games, so I always have very measured expectations. Like with The Witcher 3, I'm expecting to not be blown away by it even though a lot of people are saying it's a fantastic game.

Of course it's the lie not the decision that everyone debates at a moral/philosophical level. Personally I thought the winter chapter was what really put the game on a level of it's own. The other chapters are all great in their own right, but the winter chapter changes things up so much.

There are people who claim you can just watch the game on Youtube and get as much enjoyment, but that is complete BS. If you like this sort of game then there is just no way you get a similar experience just watching on Youtube.

The only bad side is pretty much every game feels lacking afterwards. I haven't played many games since I completed TLOU.

Though I play TLOU pretty much everytime I get the chance. Multiplayer is just as amazing as the single player.

I'm not a huge multiplayer guy but I'll definitely check it out then!

I just fired up Arkham Knight for the first time, got it a few days ago but wanted to play/finish TLOU first so hopefully it's not too much of a downgrade, it's a completely different game so I doubt my mind will make many comparisons.

What I find it less is more when it comes to enemies. When you have large numbers of enemies you have to battle it forces the game to become simplified into button mashing. In games like TLOU and the Souls series you will almost certainly die when there are more than 2 enemies of any sort surrounding you at close quarters. And of course it only takes one enemy if it's a clicker and you don't have a shiv or pipe handy, or bloater any time you get within grabbing distance.

The Winter chapter pushes this game from fantastic into masterpiece territory for me. It was truly spectacular.

I bought this game just for the ps4 because when it come out in the ps3 i had a huge backlog and i didn't want to become a hoarder and i had a suspicious it would have a ps4 version. I'm one trophy away from the platinum and I'm getting really good at the mp. The single player and the left behind are just amazing stuff and i did get really sad when it did end, because i didn't want to stop play it. One of my favorites ever...

I really hope that ND doesn't take notice of the 'starts off slow' crew because if they do it will completely ruin the franchise.

The PS5 Exists.

Glad you loved it, best game i've ever played.

I've spent hours discussing that ending with friends, some of whom don't play games, because it's one of those extremely rare endings where you're left not only questioning the ending, but your own morals as well. Amazing title.

thats very true. the only other game that made me think about life, morals and my own personal believes/decision was Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemptions story was more about life in general rather than ones own personal morals, but it still hit a very serious and deep tone. both are master pieces IMO.

TLoU is IMO, probably the best game ever made. Gameplay was perfect, story, music, graphics, characters, story telling. everything was just perfect.
