I like the idea of melee combat because just having guns would be a bit boring, would they would just stand infront of each other and shoo? Also can these be remote piloted? Cause it seems pretty dangerous if people have to be inside.

MegaBots guy said that they need to make some "preparations" in the robots to get them ready for battle but I don't know. I think there won't be anyone inside, too risky, unless there is another way that they plan on deciding the winner instead of by assessing mech destruction and rendering the opponent unable to continue, like scoring points for shooting gotcha style parts of the robot body or some shit.

But then you have international waters so I guess there they could have their human-threatening battles.

I think the paint scheme on the American bot is on purpose, and they are currently working on a walking version. Because a 15 foot robot with giant guns isn't scary enough.
