Rayman Legends sold 2.40M (VGchartz numbers).
This is very good for a for a 2D Jump n' Run imo.

Probably mostly at low prices as I remember it not doing well in any market at launch.

Even at a discounted price, its a pretty big deal when a 2D game sells millions.

Those generally arent big budget titles.

Mobile? Screw off Ubisoft.

#WiiUorWeRiot

I could see #WiiUorWiiRiot trending pretty quickly. Make it happen!

Mobile-only feels like a kick in the balls. But I guess we're just going to have to get used to it. The times are a-changin'.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

2.40 million isn't a lot when your game released on 7 consoles. Donkey Kong, Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, Metroid, etc. sell those numbers on one console. But yeah, it was probably profitable.

That's not the game I wanted.

THAT'S NOT THE GAME I WANTED UBISOFT

Those Ninteno games have bigger budgets and most havent sold millions as 2D games in a long while. Rayman games have less demanding visuals that port easily between platforms. Rayman has been on many platforms because its easy to do.

New Super Mario Bros. games don't have a huge budget, they're probably a lot cheaper than Rayman Legends. Kirby and Donkey Kong games sold over 2 million copies last gen. That's a long while now?

There hasn't been a 2D Metroid game since 2004, so of course it has been awhile. And that was just a remake.

There is a thread here about Mighty No. 9 and how it was difficult to port to the Wii U and that game doesn't have demanding visuals either.

Ignoring the fact that this is a mobile game, I want a 3D Rayman dammit!

Don't get me wrong, I love both Origins and Legends but I want a 3D Rayman like the Rayman 2 and 3.

I bet Nintendo puts more money than you think in those Mario games. Also, they use 3D assets unlike Rayman which is basically just 2D assets.

Donkey Kong on Wii also used 3D assets and it was released in 2010. So its certainly been while.

The last time a Kirby game sold millions was in 2010. Again, its been a while.

I don't think porting Mighty Number 9 on Wii U was difficult. It was probably just difficult to reach the same level of polish as the X1 and PS4. And again, that game uses 3D assets. Rayman games have been 2D assets. I didn't hear any difficulties about putting Rayman on Wii U or even Wii.

By the way, I don't think Rayman has to do Nintendo numbers to be a success. Rayman Origins and Legends has sold over 5.4 million physically according to VGChartz, that's a huge accomplishment. Especially for a 2D series not pushed by Nintendo.
