It may end up breaking even, but it's clear that those are titles you invest AAA money into. You want far more return with your big budget titles.

Not in North-America and Japan...
The Order is overtracked in the US according to NPD... honestly, the game will be lucky if will sell 1.5 million lifetime.

I wouldn't bother. I've said that to him numerous times and he won't listen.
OT: The Order did alright. I imagine Sony isn't too happy with the sales, but it could've been worse.
I think it sold way more than it actually deserve. So they might be happy if they break even, but I don't know if that will be possible...
Shiken said: So I got bored and started looking at vgchartz sales data. Much to my suprise, The Order is at .95 physical units sold! Now those of you that read my posts when the game launched know that I enjoyed it very much and found it underrated, even if the price point was a bit high. So I did some dighing and comparisons to other games that I enjoyed.
Sunset Overdrive....the game everyone talked about but no one bought. I slso loved this game but it only clocks in at .82 mil. This game was released months before The Order, yet has already been passed despite the very different reception of both games. Furthermore I have thought that Sunset would have more legs than The Order, but looks like I was way off.

Are you also taking into account the numbers of the user base when these games released?
I bought Sunset Overdrive when it released, I enjoy it also. I actually just received a bunch of weapons, and outfits for being a day one fan. it was quite a bit of items, seems that I was given all the different preorder weapons, and clothes from all the different outlets. i.e. Gamestop, Amazon, etc...
The majority of people that call this a flop are those refering to critic scores, and they would be right.
Game had huge hype, big marketing campaign, years in development, massively backed by Sony and a big budget. Game should of done better.
It's definitely not a huge flop, but it's definitely not a success like Sony wanted it to be, either.

As well as the game scored and as much as X1 fans bragged about it, there were plenty of X1 owners out there for it to break 1 mil by now. It is a shame because SO wad a really fun game.
