Forums - Movies & TV - How do you feel about John Boyega being the lead character in Star Wars?

No issues with it, although i do think that Daisy Ridley's character will end up the Luke Skywalker of the new trilogy

I 'feel' that bad actors paired with Jar Jar Abrams directing is exactly what new Star Wars movies need. /s

Completely indifferent.

I love how 16 percent of the country needs to be 75 percent of everything to be considered fair.
Fair is if you are 16 percent of the country, then you most likely you 16 percent of the workforce, sorry its simple math
Star Wars storyline in VII is not even using the true storyline Lucas created. I saw his leaked scripts around 6 years ago and Han and Leia had a son who was becoming the next Jedi and the enemy were cloning Vaders as the new Stormtroopers. Now we have a rewritten P.C. Version
I think Lucas fucked up giving it to Disney

i stopped careing when i saw who will direct the movies...

This thread is full of idiots, looking for anything and everything to complain about. So far from what has been shown in the two teasers there is nothing valid to actually complain about so far, at least wait until we are shown something terrible to start complaining, otherwise you are coming off as overly nostalgic fanboys. The films could be great or terrible but at least give them a chance before bashing them.

You kidding right? Best decision he ever made. All 4 billion of it.

Hmm, pie.

I never even noticed he was a 'black guy' in a lead role or gave a second thought about it until you said so just now. He was (is) just 'a guy' in a lead role to me, like anyone else were 'just guys'.

Anyway about the other discussion; I don't think Disney ever said they would outright ignore the Expanded Universe and brand them all 'non-canon' outright, but rather said they wouldn't shy away from retconning anything that doesn't fit in anymore while writing the new trilogy if they find no other way around it. As it stands now, nothing indicates that anything about any of the books or games has been overwritten yet, so they still happened. We don't know enough yet to determine whether certain events from the EU are canon or not. After the Empire there are various factions that continued the use of Stormtroopers in a multitude of books and games, so nothing out of the ordinary there either. The only thing for now is the fact that Chewbacca still lives in the new movie, but I'm not too sure about the timing of that story-arc.

No problem with him why should i.... Weird question to ask i must say...

Not if disney runs the "star wars" brand through the mud with it's fans. Disney has already ruined the storyline/timeline of star wars.
