Forums - Gaming Discussion - What were your expectations/predictions about press conferences before E3?

Hello everyone, I created this thread to make a simple survey.

Who did you think could have win E3 between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo before the three press conferences? Have you changed your mind after?

About me, I was unsure about Sony's showing, I knew they had a lot of first party titles to reveal (and still have), thus I expected a solid showing, but I was afraid it could get boring because of non-gaming stuff they could waste time on. Needless to say that my mind was blown up and they are my indisputable winners!

Instead I expected Nintendo to have a great presence, but we all know how poorly they managed their E3 presentation. I was bored to death.

About Microsoft they did more or less what i expected, with a couple of surprises, but nothing incredible. In my opinion this was their best E3 showing, but unfortunately for them Sony played on a whole other level.

P.S. I know that Bethesda had a great conference, they were the second best for me, but here I'm just talking about console manufacturers.

Let me know your opinions!

I would've assumed that Nintendo was going to announce more games that would make up for the lack of Zelda

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

Sony's conference was a good as it could be and Horizon definitely exceeded expectations.
Microsoft was really lacking with BC as the highlight. I really expected to see something more from Halo. I think it got outshone by Cuphead.
Nintendo... well what can one say?

Sony- ps4 being no. 1, I expected bo3, and other minor third party partnership, the new guerrilla game, alongside uncharted 4 as big highlights (that would have been enough for me). Instead, I got a huge showing (one of the best e3 presentations, if not the best one). Safe to say very satisfied.

Microsoft- I was expecting halo 5, forza, and gears. Perhaps a big third party partnership but not bo3 (This was the least they needed to grab my attention). Safe to say they delivered that, and brought on great surprises like recore and bc. I left that presentation satisfied, but not too amazed.

Nintendo- They said no zelda at e3, so I expected a big title to replace it (didn't get it). They said they were only showing games for the upcoming year so I at least expected one big title for this year, and one for next year (wii u 2016 looks worse than this early this year, which has been one of the worst). They said they wanted to maintain great third party relations, so I expected more than amiibo locked content for skylanders. Wanted good release dates for announced games, nothing will release over the summer and xeno x is December.
The Wii u is doing poorly, so I actually expected a lackluster e3 from nintendo, they went and not only failed my expectations, but gave a slap in the face thinking budget spin offs were going to be enough.

Yeah, the fact that for many people Cuphead is the best E3 game for Microsoft (available on PC too) tells a lot about their "greatest line-up" impact.

MS - No real expectations, just stuff like Halo, and Forza, I guess. MS did really good with announcements, though, and their conference was a lot better than I expected.

Sony - I knew they were gonna be the top, but man did the blow me away. I was expecting TLG, but those other announcements like FFVII remake were amazing, and Horizon looks like a mighty fine game.

Nintendo - I kinda knew that they were at a disadvantage without Zelda, but I was hoping that they could deliver with a huge surprise announcement. Unfortunately, we didn't get that huge surprise, and most of their announcements were pretty lackluster.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I was expecting a proper animal crossing game for Wii U... Instead we were given garbage

Nintendo:
Expectations: Something good, but nothing expectacular.
Reality: It was fucking garbage. Disappointment.

Sony:
Expectations: Something good, a few big new games.
Reality: I masturbated to it.

Microsoft:
Expectations: Something meh.
Reality: Surprisingly, it was quite good.

I'm now filled with determination.

I expected MS and Sony to deliver great conferences, and they did. I expected the same for Nintendo, but...

Nintendo

What I expected: Animal Crossing, Metroid, and Paper Mario

What we got: All of those, just in, well, different ways
