Forums - Sales Discussion - The Reason Why Nintendo Can't Get 3rd Party Games

To add to other peoples comments, the problem is also the stubborn gamers on Nintendo system who punished the developers because of parent publisher decisions.

Examples being
1. Rayman Legends = was shunned because the game got delayed, when in return we got three other Ubisoft games announced (AC IV and Watch Dog and some other I forgot).
2. Need For Speed ignored because EA said they are pulling support.

Sure there were gimped games on Wii U but the following deserved to crack a million for their effort with the limitations the system had:
- Zombi U
- Need For Speed
- Deus Ex
- Rayman Legends
- AC IV
- MH3
- COD BO2
- COD Ghosts
- Injustice God Among Us

The fact that a lot of the Nintendo games on that list haven't even cracked a million just shows how poor the console is going.

the reason the list is like that is because there is no third party support on the WiiU. if nintendo are the only ones releasing games on the system then its only logical that nintendo games dominate the top selling charts.

Dont use that logic on me bro! We all know that third parties are afraid to compete with Nintendo games! /s

100% agree with you.

Even systems that had good 3rd party support are heavily dominated by Nintendo games.

There are many reasons. The issue is complex. Trying to simplify it to one catch-all reason is absolutely stupid.

yeah they shouldn't release as many games as they have to give room for them, that should do the trick

There have only been 2 retail games released on the Wii U on this year. Well, 3 if you want to count Mario Party.

What do you mean as "they shoulnt release as many games"?

There havent been a Nintendo system with good 3rd party support since the SNES, and still you cant compare the market back then with todays market.

Playstation didnt exist back then.

Nintendo is home to the best third parties out there, the hell you talking about? Stupid gaijins who don't know what a handheld is. Home consoles are dead, PC is the future, Nintendo Fusion is the only who will survive.

Bayonetta is a third party game..

We could look at it as nobody else develops for the console... You are destined to be top publisher

We can't compare software sales between multiple Nintendo consoles because Playstation didn't exist?  This is how you show a trend after all.

To say that the N64-Wii didn't have 3rd party support is factually incorrect - perhaps you just didn't scroll down below the first 20 games....

It's not like 3rd parties even try when it comes to Nintendo platforms.

This does show that good titles are pretty scarce though, when the list consists mainly of 1st party titles.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
