Nintendo already has Yoshi, Starfox, Amiibo Crossing Party for the holiday season with Super Mario Maker releasing not too far behind in September.

This is assuming Nintendo isn't making any more titles for Wii U in 2016 or beyond other than Zelda U  and Shin Megami X Fire Emblem which isn't baseless considering how Iwata and Co. can't stop talking about NX. This can help Wii U's 2016 year seem less barren as well. Also Nintendo has Fatal Frame V and Devil's Third releasing this year. 

This will also be good for Xenoblade's sales because it will avoid the overcrowded holiday titles from not only the Wii U but also the PS4/One consoles.

I don't think so. The game is releasing in December, and shouldn't have any competition in that month. I mean, Smash didn't cut into Captain Toad's sales and vice versa, despite releasing within a month of each other.

Why would Nintendo delay highly anticipated games? That would be just awful of them.

Doubt it... While yes, the holidays are a bit "crowded," most of the games are niche including this one and since Zelda U got delayed, they need as many games as they can get this holiday

PREDICTION! Star Fox Zero will be delayed as well. Zelda will come out in 2017 as a cross-platform game between the Wii U, NX console, NX handheld, NX tablet, NX console-handheld abomination, NX console-tablet abomination, NX handheld-tablet abomination, The New Nintendo New NX™ , 3DS, and Gamecube, only for all the previous versions to come out 6 months later on the NNX's Virtual Console, not to be confused with The New Nintendo New NX™, the NNX is the next hardcore Nintendo console set to release on 2020.

Nah the games coming out in December. Also its only North America still waiting for yoshi.

No, game is released in april in Japan, I can't think they would released whole year later in West.

The worst of all is that Nintendo's management probably could think they can easily get away with that. Completely forgetting possible backlash on NX sales. Sony know they can't make a new handheld, but they never tought of dropping the PS3, while the situation wasn't as bad and turned around nicely, barely supporting the U isn't the way for Nintendo.

I hope no. XCX is their only big holiday title this year.

Nintendo have no real big heavyweight title this year, so having a number of smaller titles which appeal to a wide range of dedicated fans is their best shot. Taking arguably the biggest of those titles away wouldn't do a whole lot of good or make a lot of sense.
