Nintendo already has Yoshi, Starfox, Amiibo Crossing Party for the holiday season with Super Mario Maker releasing not too far behind in September.
This is assuming Nintendo isn't making any more titles for Wii U in 2016 or beyond other than Zelda U and Shin Megami X Fire Emblem which isn't baseless considering how Iwata and Co. can't stop talking about NX. This can help Wii U's 2016 year seem less barren as well. Also Nintendo has Fatal Frame V and Devil's Third releasing this year.
This will also be good for Xenoblade's sales because it will avoid the overcrowded holiday titles from not only the Wii U but also the PS4/One consoles.
