Sports
work simulations, those games are not just stupid, they are also realy realy badly made...
music/rhythm games is probably the only genre I don't play at all. Also don't like stealth games.
Dancing games (just dance for example). Runner up is sports (only because I kinda like FIFA, haters gonna hate).
For me, fighter games. i know all games are really just button mashing, but whenever I've played fighters it becomes a bit too obvious this all people are doing.
Definitely online simulation games, although puzzle games like candy crush can give them a run for their money.
There are plenty of high quality FPS games that have happened here and there and the recycled ones are still involving to play.
There are plenty of awesome fighting games this gen, and of last gen. Personally I prefer the non traditional ones like SSB and Dissidia.
Sports games have very few once in a lifetime kind of games(if any, I honestly can't think of a legendary sports game, just excellent ones at best), but at least we can look back at some of the 32/64 bit WWF games as well as the earlier WWE PS2 games.
Other sports games I suppose also have their appeal despite being of the lowest common denominator.
Some music games are good, especially Theatrhythm Curtain Call.
Puzzle games are nice to pass the time at work when nothing is going on or you're on break :P
Lube Me Up
platformers, how can people even play that shit
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
I think all genres are good for the right people but I can not stand FPS games. Mainly because I suck tbh
Life sims. Ala Harvest Moon, The Sims, Farmville, Animal Crossing. Basically any game where the point is life someone else's everyday life. I like other types of sims like Roller Coaster Tycoon, Sim City, etc.
