The clones are the winners from the poll fanservice dlc in awakening (without Lucina an Chrom).

First, while I had already been spoiled about this fact, I think the OP should at least include a spoiler warning. I get the game won't hit our shores for almost a year but lets no ruin everything that might be surprise months ahead of time.

Second Awakening basically opened up the ability for any FE game to be linked thanks to multiple alternate worlds so, yeah. While there have been some reoccurring themes in terms of characters (the red and green knights, older crutch characters, blue haired royal protagonists, etc) previously, I think FE fans should get used to seeing more instances of older popular characters being brought back one way or another. Sadly, one of my personal favorite Cynthia didn't make the cut, but yeah, FE fans should know at this point with the advent of DLC, Amiibo and the popularity of characters crossover appearances are here and unlikely to disappear quickly.

Lastly, don't know what it is Nintendo's translation team is working on with this game or why they couldn't have started soon but they really should have aimed at getting the NA and Europe versions of Fates ready to release it during the holiday season instead of causing their Western fans to have to wait until 2016.
