Love metal, mostly the classic 80s stuff (all sub-genres). Some newer bands I really like are Ghost, Keldian, and Evil Invaders. Ghost's new song "Cirice" is awesome, I even get a bit of an Alice in Chains vibe from it...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

MAster of puppets is better then either, one of the bet albums ever not just metal albums. The lyric,s tone, atmosphere, compositions are on another level then most albums. Metallica were the masters of tone/atmosphere in their songs back then.

Yes, I am very much into metal...have been since the early 90s. Thrash, Death, Black, Power, Traditional, Industrial, Gothic/Doom, and offshoots of each.

I was into Melodic Death Metal in the late 90s, but many of the staple bands like In Flames and Soilwork went off the deep end and then metalcore bands stole certain aspects and pussified it up. But I still love pure melodic death metal. Bands like Mors Principium Est still fly the flag of MDM.

I'm generally not into nu-metal or metal core.

But yeah, some of my favourite bands (in absolutely no particular order or grouping):

Samael
Amorphis
Testament
Dark Tranquillity
Fear Factory
Hypocrisy
Sentenced
Tiamat
Moonspell
Mors Principium Est
Iced Earth
At The Gates
Paradise Lost
My Dying Bride
Tristania (older)
Gridlink
Naglfar
Dissection
Trail of Tears
In Flames (Colony and earlier)
Soilwork (Natural Born Chaos and earlier)

Can't think of anything else at the moment. And I'm at work where Youtube is blocked, so I can't see the stuff the rest of you have posted.

Iced Earth, glad to see someone else mention them. They have been very underrated for years.

Love that band!  Seen em live twice. The best blend of thrash and power metal.

I personally wouldn't even consider MoP the best Metallica album. AJFA is my favorite, and I'd rank it pretty evenly with Rust in Peace. Never really cared much for Slayer though.

Agree, you described them perfectly. They main guy behind the band Shaffer comes up with so many great riffs.

I mostly listen to groove and funk metal.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

Slayer is overrated, they are cliche metal.

MOP is a masterpiece in everyway, AJFA is the weakest of the big 3 Metallica albums, many songs go on too long, there are a few forgettable songs on that album too. The mix of melody, thrash, lyrics, and tone in MOP is just off the charts. Agree to disagree on that.

Absolutely.  The guy is a riff machine.
