I wouldn't count on anymore unannounced major releases coming to the PS3. The PS3 is on the way out. This is the last good year it will have, guaranteed. Then it will slowly fizzle out with downported multiplats of annual releases as well as an indie title here or there and finally die a quiet death. I'd put money on this game being a PS4 exclusive at launch. Maybe it won't stay that way down the line, but at least launch time will likely show that to be the case. In the current situation, PS4 is the only viable option, and even if the NX kicks off with a bang, the Wii U retaught that it's probably best to wait and see before making any major development commitments to a Nintendo home console.

Anybody thinking NX anything: do you understand what Dragon Quest is? Dragon Quest is niche. Even in Japan, it doesn't sell amazingly (although it sells tons better in Japan than the rest of the world). Why would they risk the next major installment on Nintendo's next gamble? There is legitimately no good reason to do so. It's a huge risk when there is already a popular system available to toss the game on where people actually purchase third party content.

Well agree with u and i am hoping for PS4 exclusive, but i just dont want to get early hype, i always prepare for the worse, so if it's turn exclusive then i will be happy if not then i am still happy

OT. Anybody that thinks this game isn't appearing on PS4 (may not be exclusive, who knows), now that it has been confirmed for home consoles, is honestly kidding themselves, SE is putting way too many resources into helping the PS4 in Japan to ignore it with their biggest franchise over there.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply niche in Japan. My bad. I meant to say that basically, it's niche in general only having any level of popularity in Japan (with sales numbers only really being impressive for VII, VIII, and IX, and hit or miss depending on remake, spinoff, or main title otherwise), and if they want to even entertain an international release, picking the right console is necessary. In that respect, picking a brand new console from the company that misses far more than they hit with their home consoles these past 20 years would be a bad idea.

Verendus said that the Dragon Quest XI is going to be revealed this year so it's coming to PlayStation and since Japanese developers do not do multiplats, it's always on PlayStation or Nintendo, it'll be a PlayStation exclusive.Iit'll definitely be on PS3 since it'll sell there.

Well if Japan is their primary market Wii U has the bigger install base, so either Wii U exclusive, or Wii U / PS4 multiplat.

Only if you develop on PS4 and then try to port down. If you develop on Wii U and then port up the power difference is irrelevant. As long as it's as great as DQ fans imagine it will be having Wii U quality graphics on PS4 shouldn't be a problem for people.
