I made a thread to ask if ps3 would get to 100 millionunits, now I ask if it will reach 1 billion software sales. Probably it already have with digital ( digital sales of games also available at retail)

Software. It's got about 103 million to go as if the last chart.

If it gets another 50 million this year I think it could get the other 50 combined the following years. If it gets over that this year then for sure. If it gets less than 50 total this year I don't think it will quite make it.

Probably means 2 consoles from the 7th gen will get to 1 billion since 360 only has 70 million or so to go and PS3 software is not outselling 360 software by such great margins so it's unlikely to overhaul that lead. Probably with digital sales, esp if you count indies and PSN only games, both already have, as long as VGC LTD software is something close to correct.
