I don't see why it matters

Why is matter?

We know a console is at 20.2m sold.

The site has the console at 20.34m sold.

So, what make? adjustment down? no, we make adjustment up... I mean... there are some reason?

The question is, i can understant none adjustment, but why adjustment UP?

to be fair when Sony is announcing sales they say "has sold more than xxx", as there is some room for statistical error etc

Ok, but >300k ???

VGChartz has PS4 at more than 20.5m... if the numbers was true, why Sony didn't say "PS4 sold more than 20.5 million" ?

It depends on how Sony worded it because they quite often use sold through meaning to consumers not shipped , they explained this was done with a formula that uses their shipping data and other internal and external data to come up with a sold through number, so if thats what this is the 300k could be in the channel.

This is my understanding as well. Don't care enough to look it up though.

This is why I don't like when ioi update the numbers, I miss the old vgchartz from 2 months ago

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Preadjustment for future undertracking.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

China?

Just because the console is overtracked as of the end of march, doesn't mean it's overtracked now.

Yes the numbers back then are inaccurate but considering how delayed we are getting current numbers I don't really care as long as the total we have as of the latest date is not miles out.

Because those are their most accurate adjustments... It's two months after March.
