This is tough because there are a lot of shitty survival horror and stealth games and games that don't have real stealth or horror in them (jump scares can fuck off). I guess if it was a choice between a full blown excellent survival horror game and an excellent stealth game, I'd probably pick the stealth game. Although one of the reasons I loved the last of us so much is because it was a really good blend between these two when played on the higher difficulty imo (did first playthrough on survivor difficulty and loved it).

Before: Survival Horror. Now: Stealth. Survival Horror is bad nowadays.

Love survival horror, Playing Evil Within to clean up a couple missed achievements. Also have the DLC ready to play as well. Loved Dead Space, specially DS2.

I would say stealth, only because of assassin's creed. I haven't played much survival horror besides the last of us, if you even consider that survival horror.

The only stealth game I like is metal gear. Wait you know what game was both and not good at either thing? Man-hunt 2. God that game was trying to hide it's mediocre play mechanics by being shocking and fucked up.

Neither of those games fit those genres that well. AC is more of an action adventure with some stealth in it. TLOU is more an action survival with some stealth in it.

Tenchu, thief and splitter cell are proper stealth games. Dead space, silent hill and the evil within fit the horror survival genre perfectly.

Its intresting how opinions seem to be split this evenly.
And that usually the preferance towards one or the other is quite big, few really appreciate both (but some do).

Survival Horror, for sure. I don't have enough patience to crawl around in games.
