Forums - Gaming Discussion - Video games put me in my happy place

So much negativity in the world.

Politically. Economically. Socially.

Personally. Some times my friends and family are complete assholes.

At work too.

People just kind of suck at times. Even in the gaming community we see all this negativity about console wars. And other bs. Or we argue about sales and predictions.

Here is a positive thread to discuss our love of video games.

There are two things in my life that genuially make me happy. Working out. And video games.

I can be by myself. And get into a great story on an action or rpg game.

Or go through an 82 game nba season. Or a fifa tournament.

Or make choices that depend on what I would actually do in that situation like Mass Effect or The Walking Dead.

Why do video games make you happy??

It's the most fun activity to spend time with. But it doesn't make me THAT happy.

What makes me really happy is cooking. I love cooking.

Its not even human nature.... lots of animals love to play as well.
Its apart of our being, we re wired that way.

OP: Videogames make me happy because I have a good way to spend my time and I get to experience a different kind of media, which is, at times, more original, quirk and interesting than books or movies.

My favorite part about video games is definitely exploring (if most of the game is natural with trees and stuff). Like, in Zelda U, I would love riding Epona and taking in the scenery. But that isn't the most important part of the game, but I do think it's practically required in open-world games (To have explanation by itself to be good on its own)

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!
