Huh, I read this more this way : Nintendo will unleash a lot of first party games at launch and near-launch to expand the userbase at the most possible, so third party will put their games on the console and everything will be fine.
That's the Nintendo-like solution IMO

He said he won't share any details about the NX.

A "nintendo-like" solution is the perfect way to say something while giving away nothing. Wait until 2016, smoke some weed in the meantime.

Maybe we will get a massive amount of launch games in order to rapidly expand install base in a short amount of time to lure 3rd parties?

Thankfully the supreme court hasn't legalized that yet. Though they are on a liberal spree so I wouldn't be surprised...

This is the question (Q3). This is about software, not profit.

So? His answer doesnt only apply to software. He is talking about viability ofteh company to make money. 

Comparing the NX to the WiiU and 3DS by saying we are going to offer Nintendo software means what exactly? That is what every Nintendo device does. He is not making a comparison in that regard.

Once again:

I think Iwata is tipping his hand toward more IP outsourcing. Hyrule Warriors success probably especially drove up interest in deals like this.

At the same end, I think Nintendo is looking to shore up some beaten down 3rd party franchises under its umbrella as exclusives. Things like Dead or Alive, Ace Combat, and even Megaman are ripe for their taking.

Or could it mean they are going to sell the device through their own (online) store? Especially Wii-U hasn't hade great support by retailers and it's mostly their own games that sell their systems anyway.

If they skip retailers however it would mean they are probably going digital only.
