Lol, I agree. It's funny seeing people say this is a good idea "to test the waters". Sorry, big companies like Sony don't need their fans to fund shit for them. Feel sorry for the sheep who are going to pour countless dollars into the drain for a billion dollar company


That's not how crowd-funding works...If the project is successful, you get a product that you are paying for (not pouring money down the drain), if it isn't successful, you don't give them any money (not pouring money down the drain).

This also isn't for things that Sony would be doing anyways, this is for ideas that their employees come up with that the company isn't sure will have enough support to be viable.

For instance, that cool watch they're going to be releasing wouldn't have happened without this program.

1) We call people zombies and sheep just because they want to support something, with their own money and freedom, but since we don't believe in funding none of it then it is ok and left to the realm of opinions to call them names like "zombies" and "sheep".

So

2) We insult a homosexual couple because they decide to marry, a decision that pertains to their own lives, affairs and freedom, but since we don't like the idea of being with someone of the same sex then it is ok and left to the realm of opinion to insult them by calling them names as well.

I think it's kinda funny that people assume so much about this. The only things that will put on here will be pet projects of employees and things that denied from Sony themselves.

But yeah, we'll all be paying for their R&D. Rabble rabble.

 So Sony should just blindly throw money into products that don't know will attract conumers and make the money back? I strongly disagree. This is a great idea that is beneficial to both the employees and the corporation as a whole. Employees no longer have to be shy to show off their potential ideas, while Sony doesn't have to worry about losing money if it doesn't work out. 

Yea, because a 50+ billon dollar business can't do RD... Give me a break man. To all the people defending this... wow... just wow.

I have to say yeah I agree with that general sentiment. 

A billion dollar corporation shouldn't be groveling for donations like they're some low rent garage developer. 

Get it together Sony. This is what your R&D is supposed to be for.

That does seem to be the case. I'm finding lately that I've been having to go around threads and individually hand out pieces of information that everybody has available to them in the same why I do. I don't mind informing people but not ten times a thread.
