We all know that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo throughout their history, have each lost respectivly the respect of millions of consumers. When talking about lost respect, we can say that actions such as DRM implementation on the Xbox One, catering to the casual crowd and a high launch price for the PS3 have all made Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony lose the respect that millions of consumers had for them ( Only to be restored a short while after or to be replaced by newly found respect for one of the other two companies ).

Now according to you what do these companies, at this point in time, have to do to lose your current respect for them? ( You can choose to talk about one of these three companies or all of them )

The only one I even slightly respect is Nintendo and that's because out of the three, they stick to their guns no matter what. To me, that's admirable. The other two, I just buy because they have games I like to play. It's that simple.

I think the idea of making a huge company into something like a relative, where you are loyal blindly, and worship... it's silly. It's no different than those people who campaign for politicians because they believe said politician is actually a GOOD PERSON... when in fact, they're just another... politician.

abandoning the vita

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

You are loyally blind and worship your relatives? Oo

The only thing that Nintendo could do to lose my respect is that they become third-party.

If they release a confederate flag skin console with a bonus free game funded by Donald Trump about mindless killing of Mexican homosexual couples.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I was about to respond to this in a way of if it turns out the executives at sony were all racist bigots then I'd jump ship.

But Uncharted 4. (And GoW, Horizon, GT etc) they could do things to make me say "Fuck Sony" but I don't think I'd be able to not play their games. Well that sucks.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Nintendo: Make awful decisions with their next console
Sony: I'm pretty neutral on 'em, and I don't own many of their consoles, so nothing they do can really hurt me
Microsoft: What respect?

bet: lost

If any of the big 3 ditched the consoles and went pure digital, I would lose respect. I've already lost some respect for MS over the DRM thing but it can gain it back fairly easy by not trying to push anymore anti-consumer policies.

I stopped respecting Sony when first party stopped supporting the Vita. When PS3 was doing poorly, they stood tall with the machine, even when it cost them billions. But the slightest whisper of trouble and Vita was done.

I lost respect for MS when they did their Mattrick DRM announcement of doom, but they realized what they did wrong and went about fixing it in short order. The damage with the announcement hasn't been fixed yet, but I am glad that they turned it around.

In spite of the last E3, I respect Nintendo for standing with Wii U. They haven't announced future megatons for it, but I think they did a splendid job putting games on the system, especially since they were pretty much the only one to do so. Since NX is speculated to launch in 2017, Nintendo will have stood with the system for 5 years. Pretty cool.
