Forums - Gaming Discussion - Street Fighter and Smash Dominates EVO 2015

Killer Instinct is so not coming back next year.

Also last year of Street Fighter IV and (hopefully) Smash Melee.

I doubt all there.

SFIV will be on EVO next year together with SFV.

Melee will be back too.

Killer Instinct will be back but have more chance to get out than the other two.

I didn't know Persona 4 Arena Ultimax had a tournament following; that's pretty cool. Nice to see Smash Wii U above Melee.

Its an Arc System Works fighter, of course it has a competitive following

Seriously though most fighters have a decent tournement following, even the obscure anime ones like Dengeki Bunko or Under Night have tourneys that Ive watched on Twitch before. Obviously they take the back seat to the bigger games at these tourneys but they are there.

Great numbers for Smash!

I'm honestly a little surprised that there are more entries for Smash Wii U than Melee.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Have you played Smash Wii U extensively?

No but you don't need to play extensively lol

It is possible Melee will continue on EVO for years yeat and Wii U not.

To be fair most entrants for Wii U than Melee is some kind surprise but I know most guys didn't have or can buy a Gamecube today... Wii U is easy to get into.

GGxrd over Tekken? thats a nice surprise

Tekken struggling because its an unreleased game, in saying that TTT2 wasnt exactly the most popular. As sad as it is (because I hate Capcoms SF model) it looks like rereleasing the same game updated over a console generation could be the best way to go to maintain your following.

Damn poor Marvel. Seems to get lower every year.

don't waste time

NNID : turtuls

So happy to see smash 4 so high, however the fact that custom moves are legal is going to hurt the game presentation for viewers as well as the gameplay for the players. As much as I love smash 4 EVO is not going to as hype as other smash tournaments.

SFV won't have that anymore.

You can easily get a GC for around 30$, but you're probably right. The only reason anyone is playing Smash on Wii U is because it is only 300$. Its not like the game is really fucking good or anything...
