"My idea is that we should be able to fully purchase games on PS Now so that theyre available for endless streaming in addition to the original plan of renting the games for a set period of time"

Make it happen folks!

To cover the cost for servers and such, they could make an active PS Plus membership mandatory for playing the games, just a thought :)

That would be cool, and make sense.

Maybe make PS Plus optional to keep the games, you know, to cover server costs and such :)

The problem with that is that it'd cost money for Sony every time you play that game, so if you play enough (would propbably have to a be a lot though) Sony will lose money on it.

Have fun paying 1000k dollars for one game.

If you want to buy a game instead of renting, then buy it.. There are no games exclusive to PS Now, you always have a choice.

Not if they make PS plus mandatory for it :)

That could be a form of backwards compatibility then.

No offense,  but your idea is not good at all.

PS+ is not enough to cover unlimited streaming costs. Not in the freaking least.  If they required a PS Now sub sure.

It literally requires a dedicated server blade per game session to compute every action,  reaction and frame.  This is nothing like amazon,  or the itunes store that only requires read access to their storage.

Some people will play a game for 1000 hours plus.  This costs Sony more upkeep costs than you realize apparently. There is electricity, hardware, cooling, internet, and even engineer salaries.

Additionally, Sony only makes like 15-25% of a game sale. So they make $3-5 on a $20 game. PS+ sometimes sells as little as $30 or less than $3 a month including 6 free games they literally pay the publisher for.

Lastly,  the price would create more demand than they have infrastructure for. The queues would be hours long.

If they would allow us to buy PS1 and PS2 games, then I'd agree. But they don't. PS Now is the only way to play the unless you want to go to Ebay and buy old consoles and games.

You will see ps1 and ps2 emulation before the end of 2015. Now that DLNA was delivered, and they delivered shareplay and app pausing this will ne their next big update.
