Now that GC adapters for WiiU are in more stable supply, it begs the question: is this just for Smash, or will I get to officially run GC games on the WiiU VC with a GC controller? We know it's been done by soft-modding Wii mode on WiiU -- but I think running natively on the WiiU OS would be preferred.

There's the question of the market for the GC VC. Next to WiiU, GC is the worst-selling Nintendo home console -- meaning its classics aren't as well known, which could just easily play in it's favor too.

At a point in time which NX is a big priority, do you think this is something Nintendo would have it's developers working on?

Unless they were working on it since a couple of years ago, they'll just wait and launch it on the NX.

It's things like this which I think Nintendo is way messed up on. Why would they not support GameCube games? I mean, unless they are going to make a lot of remasters (which they haven't), it could only benefit them. They could boast three-generations of full-backwards compatibility.

Hmm. Depends on the compatibility of whatever system they make would have with the NX. If a GameCube VC on Wii U would work with their planned NX with minimal work, they may do it since why not?

From a business perspective, they should probably launch it on the NX day one. In fact, the NX should come with vouchers for the cube versions of Twilight Princess, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Kart Double Dash.

No that dream is dead, at least for me. I was hoping nintendo announced it on E3 but that didn't happen and it never will
