E3 is over, and livestreaming site Twitch is claiming victory in the battle for viewers.

Amazon-owned Twitch today revealed an infographic sharing some numbers from its coverage of the Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show in Los Angeles. It shows that Twitch is still on an upward trajectory, with over 21 million unique viewers this E3 compared to 12 million in 2014 and around 9.5 million back in 2013. Those 21 million viewers together watched nearly 12 million hours of E3 content.

Twitch is facing increasing competition over its livestreaming dominance from YouTube — which got 8 million views of its 12-hour live show from E3  — and Hitbox. With 100 million active monthly users, though, Twitch is still leading the charge … at least for now.

Other key points from the infographic, which you can see in full below, are that Twitch had 840,000 peak concurrent viewers — up from 400,000 last year — and raised $390,000 for charity by selling bundles of digital goodies through Humble Bundle.

Pity Youtube did a better job than twitch at being reliable and better quality.

The concurrent views seem a bit low. Need to break a million or 2 next years. Make those twitch servers cry.

21 million unique viewers for twitch, and over 8million for youtube... and who knows what other services.
Add in all the press... and the following media buzz all over the internet.

E3 is HUGE for gameing.

All these viewers keen to get excited about upcoming games, and nintendo put out the direct that they did....
At least the other two understand what to bring to e3

yea youtube is just the better service (also has a 2hour rewind function for live streams, very convenient), but they aren't overrun with viewers and naturally already have huge server farms everywhere, so they have a clear advantage over twitch in that regard

a point twitch can easily improve is to finally offer an html5 video player and not only use flash player, flash regularly manages to freeze my pc until I kill the process
