NBA players are rich and famous, and when they travel for away games — which they do dozens of times each season — they like to play video games (who doesn’t?).
But they don’t bring their own consoles. No, they purchase a new PlayStation 4 console every time and just leave it at the hotel the next day.
That’s according to NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks. In an interview for a Chinese TV show, he reveals just how much NBA players love playing PS4.
“On every road trip, the guys buy a PS4 and just leave it at the hotel.” Antetokounmpo said, adding, “Next road trip, they buy another one, play, and leave it at the hotel again.”
You can see Antetokounmpo talk about the PS4s towards the end of the video above.
Each NBA team plays 41 away games, which translates into $16,400 for PS4 consoles they’d have to buy and leave each time, although we doubt that anyone buys a PS4 on every single away game.
The average salary for an NBA player is over $5 million per season, so spending $400 on a PS4 (or a few dozen PS4s) doesn’t seem like a big deal.
