Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie Thinks Xenoblade Chronicles X will be a System Seller

It sold the Wii U for me, but it's a shame that the title is polarizing.

I doubt it, far too niche.

The original has sold 900k. Which is around the level of Pikmin 3 and Hyrule Warriors. But obviously those didn't move a bunch of systems. But I know Pikmin gave a small boost.

Also, Xenoblade Chronicles was a GameStop exclusive title in the USA. It would have hit a million already if it wasn't for that limited release back then.

Are people just quoting VGC or did Nintendo ever release shipped numbers?

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

It can be a system seller if its marketed well. But I think Fatal Frame V can be a bigger system seller.

But due to its reception in Japan I'm kinda worried about its quality.

I needed a good laugh today!! Thanks Reggie!!

To be fair, its the reason why i bought a Wii U.

Well this is the same generation in which Fire Emblem became popular, Animal Crossing became a system seller, Tomadachi Life sold pretty well and Splatoon happened, so Xenoblade doing really well wouldn't surprise me at all.

first open world jrpg

In Japan it will but I doubt it will move many systems in the rest of the world.

In Japan is already released... xD

Any way XenoBlade has sold more in the rest of world that in Japan, so... let's see, i think with a good marketing can sell many Wii U in US and Europe.

I didn't even know  :O

Seems like a waste of money to spend money advertising a game that will probably only appeal to a few people. They're better off giving the Wii U a price cut this year and advertising that.
