I'm wondering if Japan is about to go through the same purge the US went through during the 7th generation. We lost longtime mid-level companies like Acclaim, Midway, and THQ. Although none of these companies were as good as Sega, Capcom, and Konami were in their heyday, they were still around for sometime and everybody had several games made by them.
A long time ago, I suggested that these companies should go the same route as Sega, Sammy, Namco, Bandai, Tecmo, and Koei. But then I saw where Sega's merger with Sammy would eventually lead them and the I also came to realize that Konami merging with Capcom sounds great but could also be a recipe for disaster. Just imagine having the management from both of those companies under one roof.....collaborating.....making decisions together. That's more terrifying that any Resident Evil game could ever hope to be.

Thanks for mentioning my article =) Here's the new one, Nintendo's been keeping losing ground since the beginning of this year https://ryuz4ki57inenglish.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/where-theres-smoke/ Sony's systems this generation account for something like 20% of the market (5.5m vs 21m Nintendo systems) but they account for more than 60% of the games released now. |

That's exactly the problem. Better be the second in command of a vast empire than the emperor of your bedroom.
Edit : Sorry, ignore, didn't see the timestamp.
