Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Diddy Kong Racing 2 for NX!?!?!? RUMOR! NX priced at $149!?!? Rumor too!

What do you want?

NO DIDDY KONG RACING!!! 45 23.94%

DIDDY KONG RACING ON WII U AND NX AND 3DS!!! 58 30.85%

Just on Wii U... 27 14.36%

Just on NX... 51 27.13%

Just on 3ds... 7 3.72%

Total:188

I'd rather pay twice as much so the console won't limit Nintendo's ambitions, and see some actual evolving in their console. I would hate for their next console to be a console you'd see in 2012.

Price is unrealistic, but I think Nintendo could again pull what they done with Wii coming from GameCube.
NX could be more stronger Wii U with new gimmick with affordable price.
I think gimmick could be that NX is some sort of hybrid, portable console with screen that can be connected on TV aand can be used like home console too, with Wii U games support.

This Nintendo statements go in favour of this:

We would like to offer to them "a dedicated video game platform with a brand new concept" by taking into consideration various factors, including the playing environments that differ by country.

If you only expand upon existing hardware, it's dull. In some shape or form, we're always thinking about how we want to surprise players as well as our desire to change each person's video gaming life.

Because we are calling it a 'new concept', we are not thinking of this as a 'simple replacement' for the 3DS or the Wii U.

It will become important for us to accurately take advantage of what we have done with the Wii U architecture. It of course does not mean that we are going to use exactly the same architecture as Wii U, but we are going to create a system that can absorb the Wii U architecture adequately. When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems.

Nintendo, together with DeNA, will jointly develop a new membership service which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs, and Nintendo will be the primary party to operate this new membership service.

What we are always striving to do is to find a way to take novel technology that we can take and offer it to people at a price that everybody can afford. And in addition to that, rather than going after the high-end tech spec race and trying to create the most powerful console, really what we want to do is try to find a console that has the best balance of features with the best interface that anyone can use.
But really what's most important to us is, how do we create a system that is both unique and affordable so that everyone can afford it and everyone can enjoy it.

Yeah, having a slightly less powerful console than the XBox One would hardly be a good selling point. Hopefully when it is announced, it will be for a 2017 release, with the price tag reflecting the best parts the console can get, while maintaining a $300 price tag for the PREMIUM edition. Being on par or even slightly more powerful than the PS4 would be the least they should go for. It will have been 4 years +, so this should be completely doable.

If I were to dream, Nitnendo offering the first 4k console would be an amazing selling point I think. People in the next couple of years will be upgrading, and Visio and Samsung already have them at around $600 - $800. Give it two more years and it will be a viable resolution to support. Show that at some Gamestops (in 4K 60fps), that'll get people talking.

What you said sounds nice, but I can imagine Nintendo being in the middle of the PS4 and a 4K console. Perhaps, a system that can easily do 1080p 60fps with 8k textures etc, If they did that, with a solid lineup of launch games, I would be sold.

they couldn't even match the WiiU's power for $150 unless they take a loss.
Fake.

With statemrnts like "The new platform is aiming for a price of $149.99" and "the NX hardware is technically a Wii U except with higher memory bandwidth and a more balanced CPU", I'm left with three options to choose:

1-NX is a handheld and he doesn't know it.

2-Nintendo has gone full retard.

3-It's not only fake, but it's also the biggest pile of sh!t in a long time.

I'm going with option three.

Yes.. The only posible way.. Becurse as a Nextgen portable the specs fits.. but it's still to cheap..

(and what he says don't fit Brand new concept either)

Another thing to take into consideration..

Nintendo is working on some for the chiness marked.. we dont know any yet.. but mayby this guy dont realize that the console is only for china..

Well, I hope this is not a chinese console.

Nintendo's situation isn't very good in the traditional markets and, with a part of the hardware team (though we don't know how big or small that part is) dedicated to QoL, I'd prefer if Nintendo used their remaining workforce to something that would appeal to all of us like the successor(s) of 3DS and WiiU.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Why do I get the impression that most of the "rumors" around the NX originate from this forum?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I think u might get a job at Nintendo for this analisis!! Lol!! Seriously, it makes a lot of sense and i wouldn't mind something like that. I think it is genious! They might actually pull it off, since, gameconsoles are dying slowly (cel phones games, etc). Take that idea and something else to make 3rd parties comfortable and they will have a instant success.

i need diddy kong racing 2!!!
