Now yes, all of us love our time with FPS games, even if we say we "hate" them on the internet. Some of us even have favorite's, one's we play for 8 hours straight and spend from midnight to dawn looking at a flashing TV shooting everywhere. Some of us, even buy console's just to play these games. Anyway here are my favorite FPS franchises.
Halo: Now believe it or not, I use to hate Halo. I tried Halo 3 at first, and after the first mission turned my 360 off. I couldn't understand how this sold millions, I just hated it. Then I tried Halo 4, same result. I didn't understand what was going on, and thus "hated" it. But when the MCC was announced, I decided to give Halo another try.
And at first, I tried Halo CE. I still hated it. So I said to myself I'd keep playing through it, and see how I felt about it. After which, I loved it! I understood totally how this was a big hype machine, and how this sold millions. I certainly wasn't happy about the multiplayer problems, but it was still a great game!
Battlefield (excluding Hardline): Now why do I say excluding Hardline, because I hated it. Total waste of money. But other than hardline, its been a good franchise. Now Battlefield is a very PC oriented game, and up until BF4, I for the most part played on PC. But my PC is junk, so it was better off I played the next one on the Xbox One (since it supported 64 players).
Now just like PC, it was great. You felt like you where actually on a battlefield, with infantry, tanks, artillery, ect. And unlike COD with its gimmicks like UAV's and air assault drone or whatever, BF feels like a proper military FPS shooter (once again, excluding hardline).
Far Cry: Now yes, another big PC one on console's. I didn't even try till FC3, which every loved. So I decided to get it, and I was hooked. With the ability to get animal skins and craft all sorts of items, its alot of fun! And unlike many FPS games, it open world! Few FPS title's dare to enter this territory, and the ones that do generally fail, but this is a great example of how to blend the open world and FPS genre's together.
So what do you guys think, do you agree with my list? What are your favorite FPS franchises (or just franchise). Comment down below (no poll, sorry, you got to put effort into this) and I'll be back soon with another annoying thread soon (I'm kidding, maybe...)!
