Things will only change if Nintendo change... to get 3rd parties on board you need to build a device that is powerful enough to meet current hardware and put in cash to support games. You need to build a library and unfortunately that requires some cash to do that.

Nintendo has cash, and nintendo is the company that changes the most in alot of aspects, it doesnt have good third party support now, but how can we know for sure that will always be like that, you people just to conclusions sooo fast

Not sure where you are reading my text wrong... "Things will only change if Nintendo Change"... basically this is in the hands of Nintendo. They had tons of cash at the end of the Wii, but didnt put much into 3rd party development. They might do this time, but considering there past performances, it's possible they wont.

So no one is jumping to conclusions too fast, just going to the conclusion that based on their past decisions seems most likely. Could they invest heavily into 3rd party... sure its possible... likely... not if we base it on previous things they have done.

So no one is jumping to any conclusions too fast.

What do you mean by putting money into 3rd parties? They already bought exclusives and worked out partnerships and did exclusive bundles with 3rd party publishers. What more do you want? For them to start paying the 3rd party developers to make their games for their system? Its not practical.

They have hardly done anything with third parties.... and when 3rd parties do not want to release on your platform, incentives need to be in place otherwise what happened to the wii-u and a couple of years in for the wii happens.

Yes I do expect them to start paying 3rd parties to make games for their systems, thats what MS/Sony do...

If it lines up like the Wii U, it sounds like Nintendo will fail again with 3rd parties....

I wouldn't be so sure. If they are giving third parties enough of what they want, it won't matter how late they tell them about it. (within reason) Like you said in another post, the tech will mean nothing if the games can't sell. I think the NX will be plenty powerful when compared to the PS4/XBO, but they also need to be able to bring the audience that buys those games over, and that will be where Nintendo needs to be smart. I've already said it here - they need AAA western exclusives. They need games for the NX that will make people who aren't interested at all in Nintendo hardware to suddenly become interested.

The PS4/XBO are at what? 35m combined right now? Last generation, that audience was 160m combined. The idea that that market is somehow inpenatrable is rediculus. Let's say by this time next year, they are at 60m combined. That's still 100m "mainstream" gamers, just on home consoles with untapped potencial to entice to get an NX. It's still anyones game, including Nintendo's.

I think they'll have the hardware. I think they'll have the branding. I think they'll finally have the marketing. What they'll really need is the exclusive software. Something that appeals to the mainstream western gamer that will make them think, "You know what? I'm liking the NX more than the PS4/XBO." Something like Tomb Raider, Destiny, Batman, The Division, etc. Not just Zelda. Not just Mario. Not just Metroid. Not even Pokemon. Something western, something pretty, something "gritty," something with a AAA budget and marketing push, and most importantly something exclusive to Nintendo's NX. Mario fans and moms won't make the NX successful. COD fans will. People may not want to hear it, but that's the truth.

This is the closest Nintendo will get to Nintendo's "one game can change a system" mentality.

Yeah, I do agree that Ninten does need those 3rd parties, more so than ever, but I think it will be hard to do. More power won't be enough. They'd possibly need to have those 3rd party games completely exclusive to their console rather than timed or content exclusive stuff. No matter how much better they look or perform, if they can be gotten on the PS4/XBO, people will give get it for those consoles and that won't help their cause, and likely cause them to fall into 3rd again. Or just give a lot more exclusive games that are not their own, and cover the other genres and demographics they're missing.

I think they should do a wonderful 101 level exclusivity deal, where a third-party works on a new first party franchise, except that it's made by a western studio and is a western game that appeals to Western gamers. That way the I think they should do a wonderful 101 level exclusivity deal, where a third-party works on a new first party franchise, except that it's made by a western studio and is a western game that appeals to Western gamers. That way the  Game remains exclusive, but it has that appeal Nintendo lacks.

Yeah, I think that could be good, as long as Ninten doesn't keep doing things like... W101 and Devil's 3rd. At least Ninten is kinda on the right track... Hopefully they try more of that, but be a bit more smart on it...

Rumor aside, to everyone saying this happened before: Ubisoft, EA and Activision is far from = everyone. 95% of third party companies never released a single game for Wii U.

Smells like a fall 2016 launch if they are already briefing third parties on it.

Going by Iwata's latest quote:

"We can't talk about the NX, if we do, competitors may take our ideas and customers won't be surprised."

This tells me, Nintendo wants to shrink the reveal/release gap this time, I fully expect at least one iteration of NX (HH most likely) by late 2016.

If the system's launching in 2016, shouldn't dev kits be out there already?
