Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Nintendo started talking with third-parties about NX at E3, positive reception; NX more than a year away

Alright buddy, let me break this down for you.

- The WiiU is selling horribly.

- Most of Nintendo's published games flop miserably on the system. With software sales being Nintendo's bread and butter this is a pretty big issue.

- 3rd party don't want to support it. No 3rd party support = massive game droughts = pathetically low hardware sales = poor mindshare with the average consumer.

- Amiibos are the one bright spot with the WiiU and it's success can easily be carried over to a new home console.

Nintendo is moving on my friend, they want greener pastures. I know you're a pretty big fan of the WiiU but it's time to accept the obvious that the system is on the way out. Why do you think Nintendo has so pathetically little to show for the console this E3? Because, and say it with me now, all of Nintendo's efforts are on NX. You can spin the WiiU's failure all you want but Nintendo is smart enough to realize that the thing is an albatross around their neck. NX is coming holiday 2016. Please understand.

"The WiiU is selling horribly."

It's selling bad but not horribly.

"Most of Nintendo's published games flop miserably on the system"

lolololol you're such a nonsensical troll that I almost feel sorry for you, almost. nintendo's first party offerings are mostly a sucess, the majority tends to be GREAT sucesses.

"3rd party don't want to support it. No 3rd party support = massive game droughts = pathetically low hardware sales = poor mindshare with the average consumer. "

Well, the wii had poor third party support and sold a lot. it's a negative point but you're stretching it to doom levels.

As for the rest of your BS post: in case you didn't notice, nintendi specified the E3 titles were to be released in 2015 and early 2016. EVEN IF it ends up being true, you are an idiot if you say "all of Nintendo's efforts are on NX" simply because there's no evidence of that. Wii U is not a failure since it's actually profitable. and saying "NX is coming holiday 2016. Please understand." makes you an even bigger idiot, especially since you treat NX as the wii u sucessor (again, with no evidence). The most probable scenario is more games for wii u in 2016 and it's sucessor being released  sometime in 2017.

What really baffles me is that you think abandoning a platform that is still young is the right choice. even if the wii u sucessor releases in 2016, we should still have 4 years of proper support, unlike what you think.

Hey Zero

How was your weekend?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Around the Network

I really don't care when they release it. If it's fall 2016, great. I was going to buy either way and am plenty satisfied with my Wii U.

3DS is starting to feel very dated, so if NX is supposed to replace both machines under one unified umbrella (which I think probably is inevitable), then fall 2016 at least for the portable version is a good target.

Likely too E3 was to brief smaller Western third parties/studios on NX. I'd bet Japanese companies like Capcom already have been briefed and are maybe already planning games like Monster Hunter 5 for NX with Nintendo's internal studios already well underway into the development phase already.

3D Mario, the "real" Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart 9 are already in development for the NX I would guess.

if you want positive reactions, add $$$ into it. 3rd party would surely help. ;)

Approaching 3rd parties already? 2016 confirmed.

They have hardly done anything with third parties.... and when 3rd parties do not want to release on your platform, incentives need to be in place otherwise what happened to the wii-u and a couple of years in for the wii happens.

Yes I do expect them to start paying 3rd parties to make games for their systems, thats what MS/Sony do...

lol sony and microsoft pay third parties so that THEY DON'T RELEASE THEIR GAMES ON WII U.

the idea of paying for multiplatform content is imoral and ridiculous and no company with self respect would do that, not to mention it's a money bleeder.

Well you've been banned so probably cant reply... but... no Sony/MS do not pay so they dont release games on the Wii-u... most 3rd party games that have been sold on the wii-u have sold terribly so companies dont bother. It's just a fact of money, why would you release on a product that doesnt sell enough copies to make money. The knock on effect is that people who like 3rd party games wouldnt get a nintendo console if they already own a PS/XB and arnt fussed about nintendo games. Thus less people buy 3rd party games on the Nintendo console, and thus the circle is complete.

Nintendo need to be helping publishers, even if it's marketing deals - thats money saved by the publisher, stuff like that would make it more appealing to make games for their consoles.
