Forums - Sony Discussion - Question for PS4 owners: if the situation would be reverse? would you still play on PS4?

if the PS4 would be weaker than the Xbox One?

i would still play mainly on the PS4 229 65.24%

I would have a PS4 dueto ... 67 19.09%

I wouldnt see a reason why i should own a PS4 54 15.38%

Total:350

So what I gather from this thread, power doesn't matter to 90% of us. We buy what we buy out of brand loyalty. It wouldn't matter if the WiiU were the strongest and the PS4, the weakest. Performance is hardly a factor. Glad we got that out of the way! Graphical comparisons etc. no longer matter. We all just like to play what we like to play from our favorite console maker!

(Except Ethomaz. He likes playing with power)

The difference between 1080 and 900 is minimal, there's always been far too much fuss over them 2 things. You'd think people were comparing chalk to cheese.

As for the question of carry on with PS4 not because of the resolution though, because of the exclusives.

I'd still playing only on ps4. For me and people I know the most important thing ain't the power of the console but the games. I HATE FPS so xbox doesn't interest me in one bit.

Also, where I live videogame console=Playstation. I haven't cosidered buying a xbox console ever. The brand recognision is too strong yo!

If the ps4 came out for more money, and was a less powerful system, I would have stuck with gaming on my PC only for a while longer. The reason I have a ps4 is to play the exclusives, and I'm only really interested in exclusives on the ps4.

The Playstation has been my go to console since they first entered the fray. Its always been good to me, so I have no reason or desire to change. I have owned alot of the other consoles as well, Xbox 1/2/3, Wii U, Gamecube, N64, Dreamcast... but for arguments sake, if there wasnt a console on my shelf now and I went to buy one, it would be a Playstation.

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

I prefer the PS4's exclusives, so I think I'd still stick with PS4.

Well, it would matter if the power discrepancy was big enough to damage gameplay experience of multiplats. Other than lower resolutions, do XB1 multiplats tend to have any other issues? Specifically sub-30 frame drops? Cuz that would cause me to seriously look elsewhere for non-Sony exclusives.

If the PS4 was half as strong as the Xbox one I would not have payed $400 for it. No way in hell. Their are other reasons to get it over the X1, but not at that price point.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

I'm a PlayStation fan through thick and thin. PS4 would still be my console of choice.

I would still go for PS4. The power is a nice bonus, but I overall just like what they're doing more. Microsoft still makes me a little wary.
