I wish someone would tape a copy of FF13 or FF10 HD remaster to a brick and chuck it through a window at SE, along with a note that says "Here's an example of 'anime realistic-ish character models waiting for their turn to attack.' The excuses this company makes sometimes. Pure and simple, SE just doesn't believe turn-based combat will sell in this day and age, at least outside of portable titles. For as faithful as they claim they're going to be with the source material, fundamentally changing how the game plays seems like a pretty big ****ing departure from it. That's like remaking Halo as a cover-based TPS, or Crash Bandicoot as an open-world without set paths, or Starfox as a vertical / side-scrolling 2D bullet-hell shooter.
