Sure, you said it yourself.
The best way to keep people safe and prevent such things happening in the future (from the same person) is to kill them.Plenty of cases here of convicted pedophiles/rapists being released after 10, 15 years in jail and re-offending.

Strongly against.

Umm I'm not sure you understand what "justice" is? I agree to keep people safe and prevent crime but you didn't mention how you would handle a situation where crime was already committed. I'm for the death penalty. I already pay 29% in taxes

If you're gonna use the tax argument, you should know death penalty costs more than life in prison...

We can cut down on that. We don't have to make the death penalty "painless". Just put a bullet through the head. $2 right there. If they killed someone I'm sure they'd love to know what it's like to be on the receiving end. Hell, maybe we could start using the guillotine again and perform public executions and charge people to watch. Make money off of it.

The reason death penalty is expensive isn't because it's done by lethal injection (though sure, a lethal injection is more expensive than a bullet). It's because it costs to keep people on death row, appeals cost a lot of money etc. And that second idea is just ridiculous.

Depends on the severity of the crime. If for instance, the mere act of keeping a person alive contributes to the deaths of others, then perhaps the death penalty is the only way to prevent more people from dying. In that case, the greater good would mandate that the death penalty be the only viable option.

In most cases, life imprisonment would be the best choice. There are other factors to consider, though. Prison space, murdering someone while already in prison, etc. I mean you can't make a blanket statement that says: "Never use the death penalty, ever. I don't like it, so no". That's just as irresponsible as someone saying the death penalty should always be used against serial killers, or pre-meditated murder. There's so easy answer, since it's not an easy topic.

Just something to consider:  In other places in the world, the severity for small crimes like petty theft, etc, people are jailed, or even have a finger cut off.  In those places, the crime rate is extremely low.  Food for thought.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I strongly support death penalty.

Some elements of society, just can't be taught to live among other people.

what do you expect? jail alone isnt doing shit to stop those things, somebody has to WORK with this guys. that works well, the problem is, politicians dont want this because stupid people get outraged if they hear that rapist arent just thrown in a hole.

killing a person for a crime just doesnt work, same goes for prisons that are worse than pig stables.

So ACE, you're an atheist, meaning you don't believe in God?...and you don't believe in any other type of higher power?

this is an international forum, you should specify who you mean when you say god.  there are many gods, like alexander, yahwe, the invisible pink unicorn, that sexy death lady of the indians, buddah the dude. so who are you talking about?

I believe its highly improbable that there is a god or a higher power of some sort. I'm not claiming to KNOW the answers, much like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, the late Christopher Hitchens, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bill Mahr. I would be classified as agnostic but I don't mind being called atheist even though its a redundant term.

But again, what does this have to do with the death penalty? What's with all the strayed questions? You seem like someone who is able to exchange but your just simply not willing to stay on topic.
