well spending almost the entire last generation being PC only gamer i have to say its very true. You see last gen we had at least Crysis 1 but this gen PC has nothing while the PS4 exclusive look better than any other game so far who are multiplats.
Bloodborne, driveclub, infamious SO, Knack, Killzone SF, The Order 1886 are above almost all games out there. And the gap keeps rising as we have seen uncharted 4 and Horizon footage. It doesnt mean PC couldnt handle these games its just that they are exclusives.

PC has nothing:

This

This

and this

don't exist apparently.

those games arent AAA obviously or have tottally different genre

Why does that matter? They are quality releases regardless. And the Total War series is AAA. Also why does genre matter? I don't like racing games yet you listed Driveclub. Genre shouldn't be a consideration at all.

I'll just say if you want 60 FPS +, buy a rig, the extra frame rate is game changing, was for me anyway. However, to justify the purchase, you need to play a lot of games. Maybe i'm just a casual gamer nowadays.

I'd say it was never really here, and was just PC gamers being cocky fanboys. Really, it was no differet from a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo gamer's feeling of superiority. The only huge difference between PC gamers and console gamers is the cost involved.

I built a top of the line, GTX 980 Ti powered computer late last year, and I've been unimpressed with it. The games don't really look that much nicer, the genuine exclusives haven't blown me away anymore than the exclusives of the other consoles (and far less than the spectacular stuff Nintendo's been pumping out on Wii U). I can run Shadow of Mordor at 120 fps: who cares? Had I bought it on PS4 or Xbox One the experience would have been more than fine. And on top of that, because I bought the game close to launch I felt jipped, because the game went on sale just a few months later.

I'd be unimpressed with a make believe computer too, the 980TI officially launched in June 2015.

Back on topic though, I like being able to play any PC game from the dawn of games on computers to the very latest AAA blockbuster and everything in between, as well as just about every console from 6th gen and older (and the wii, too), all on the same box.

Something consoles can never offer.

You guys do realize that the "PC Masterrace" thing was a joke made by the joke review personality "Zero Punctuation." PC gamers had nothing to do with it.

Quite a few took it and really ran with it.

Still laughing from this post. Nice catch.

The PC show was mediocre? People can lose faith in a brand? Is this a joke article? I bloomin well hope so lol.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I have to say a couple of things:

1-I never liked the "PC Master Race" thing, and I've seen it used far, far more from console gamers trying to mock PC gamers than from truly PC gamers.

2-That "articles" claim the end of the "PC Master Race" based on:

  • He didn't like the PC Gaming Show from E3. Well, I did. I found it fresh and different. Long and boring at a times, yes, but I still found it entertaining.
  • Crappy PC ports. Seriously? Like this is something new and didn't happen for example during the last gen, right?
  • Price of components. What a surprise, I never heard of this argument before...

PC gaming is fine and will keep getting better. Anyone who doubts that will be proven wrong, again, by the end of this console gen.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Pc master race days never came and never went. Consoles are the most confortable way to enjoy most games. PC is a platform in constant flux that isnt very well defined nor does everything work perfectly.
Wich is why most prefer to game on a simpler device.

Used to be a PC gamer, bought the best parts and spent so much money. Guess as i got older i never needed graphics to enjoy a computer game. I'm one of those people who believes if you do not buy the best parts for PC gaming, then there's no point.

I game 90% on PC and i can tell you that its not always about the graphics which is what makes PC gaming great. Its having the huge back catalog of games and genres that just dont work well on consoles like MMOs and RTS games. PC gaming is no different to Consoles since PC's can be turned into a Console by just plugging in a controller and hooking the PC to your TV. I havnt upgraded my hardware since 2010 and i still game on my PC more then my PS4 and XB1 even though my X1 and PS4 are slightly more powerful GPU wise.

PC = More varity, More choices, better quality, Less BullSh%$ from corporations. Its also alot cheaper over time if you plan on buying alot of games and are not into paywalls.

PC has always been the Premium of gaming, sure it costs alot to get started but just like watching movies at the cinemas, you have to pay more for those VIP tickets but the experince is better.
