At least poor Greenberg and Mattrick were forced to cut sorry figures by Steve Lardmer, while highest Ninty execs can't produce this mitigating circumstance.

Reggie is the only one that sounds that way to me. At least Iwata tried to apologize until Reggie came in doing damage control in the worst way. I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't like Reggie as the president of Nintendo of America. Someone who understands what we want in our games should be placed there.

Reggie doesn't have any control though. It won't matter WHO takes his place. Nintendo's problem in the US is that they don't allow the US branch any power to make important decisions. Everything is decided in Japan where they don't have a clue as to what the US consumer wants.

Back when Sega beat Nintendo in the US, during the Genesis era, Sega allowed the US branch to have total control. This is why you saw all of those awesome commercials and games that were made for the US consumer.

If Nintendo would allow for something like that, we'd all stop getting Metroid Soccer and get Metroid Prime instead.

Oh so Reggie doesn't have enough influence to have a final say on what NA market wants? Well that's f'ed up. That makes perfect sense in what you said about the Gensis. They did give Nintendo a run for their money. I had both. However, at that time I was more of a Nintendo guy. (Still thinks the Super Nintendo is the best console ever...ahem!)

I guess we won't see games we really want. We'll get a Mario pinball galaxy game before we get a Super Mario Galaxy 3 game. Tsk...tsk.

Your first paragraph is most definitely not the truth. Its just a matter of opinion.

No, it's objectively true, or at least leaning that way. Think. As graphics become more and more realistic it is a matter of fact that they become more and more homogenised, because they are striving towards one reality. I say we're already at the stage where I certainly can't tell CoD from Battlefield graphically for example.

It's not objectively true, it is an opinion. Games are striving for realistic graphics because they are detailed, beautiful, and a good indicator of improved graphics. But from there on, each game will add it's own artistic direction, which is why games don't look similar to one another. Killzone shadowfall is completely futuristic while Destiny sci fi. Both use realistic graphics, but I can most definitely tell those games apart. Do you honestly think that Horizon looks like Assassin's Creed? Do you think far cry 4 looks like Tomb Raider?

Miyamoto is just trying to insult the graphics in other games to get people's mind off of star fox's atrocious graphics, making him look like a sore loser

He's just saying that a lot of games look similar (and they do), so he likes to add his own artistic direction.

@ bolded: The beauty of opinions, you think so, I think otherwise. As long as we keep it at that and not state any as an objective truth, we're good

@ underlined: there is a difference between displaying poor graphics and adding a distinct artistic style. I personally don't know what kind of artstyle star fox goes for (maybe you can help) but I was always under the impression that it was to have a realistic/futuristic environment to fly around.

Star fox wii u however just has poor textures and bad quality all over it. The gameplay has potential sure, but the graphics look comparable to 2006 last gen games. That's not artistic, that's just bad quality

honestly a lot. their PR is just horrible lately.

Shiggy needs to go back to just making games. Needs to get back to the director role full time.

Reggie and Iwata need to go.

Not necessarily. It's just that the western side of Ninty is incompetent in communicating with the public, and Miyamoto is like a Willy Wonka who gets a culture shock each time he peeks out of his chocolate factory.

do you know that Iwata is the top Exec for the West? He appointed himself top guy a few years ago so he could "get to know the Western markets better" - so anyone who says Nintendo NA is doing poorly but Iwata and Myamoto are doing ok are contridicting themselves

I donn t like Reggie but he is saying the things he is saying because they are post e3 talking points-  same w Iwata and Myamoto-  Nintenod execs rarely if ever go mouthing off freelance -   I don t agree with their talking points at all but make no mistake the message that is out theree is not by accident-  Also Reggie is the "bad cop"  and Myamoto and Iwata are teh good cops-  Why do you think Reggie is the one that "corrected Iwata s suppossed "apology"?  Why wouldn t Iwata speak for himslef?  Because it would look bad and Reggie is the bad cop-
